all scott's spreaders suck, regardless of price. you guys are buying this to put down Fertilizer and seed evenly. these spreaders do not roll well on grass with their plastic/hard/non air filled tires and also do not spread evenly. check out earthway, chapin, echo, lesco, among others. scott's spreaders do not work well and do not last long. you'll be buying another one after 1-2 seasons. buy once cry once.

I've been using a Scotts spreader for 6 years and haven't had to fix or replace it. Anecdotal is as anecdotal does.

All of my Scotts spreaders broke after a year, maybe two. I ended up with a ln Echo RB60. I think I paid around $120 shipped. So much better of a spreader.

Is this one much better than their edge guard deluxe one? That's what I have, and it doesn't spread very far. I see that the elite has two spreading wheels. Wonder if the upgrade is worth $70.

My plastic wheels barely turn on my 10 year old edge guard deluxe, this looks like a better model

I have two Scott's deluxe models and two scotts reg models and I really do like the edge guard! I take care of three yards with parents and parents-in-law which is why I have so many. They have lasted 5+ years just fine but I agree with the one guy that rec. more pro brands. IMHO Scott's spreaders are meh - hard to get traction with the wheels and spreading is so so... I'll prob save up for one of the other pro brands.

Anyone have a recommendation for a spreader that would mount to the back of a zero turn mower with a long cable or wired switch to release fertilizer on demand? That won't break the bank? I don't mind a few hundred but some out there are $800 to $1200. Uggh

"Sports and outdoors".

Does somebody need an indoor Scott's fertilizer spreader?

Spend a bit more to get echo rb60 for about 100$ totally worth. There are really terrible reviews on scotts spreaders. I have seen crappy results with neighbors yards - strips of lines, uneven spread etc

I went from the edge guard dlx to this one and and it really doesn't feel like much of a step up. There's essentially two hoppers in this this with two separate gears/drives for them so double the chance of it breaking. One of the little hoppers always seems to have less than the other one and you have to shake it to even them out. Wheels don't roll much better. I'm looking at earthway next, I've heard good things

This is a great price, but I didn't really like it. I upgraded from the cheapest broadcast spreader and there are some things that this Elite does worse.

Where does one find that for $100?
