This. That TV is junk comparatively.
I would lean towards sony...handsdown
Too bad this uses the X1 processor instead of XR cognitive like on the X90J

The OLEDs certainly look nice, but i really question how much benefit i'd get from that vs the extra 8" of screen diagonal i'd be getting from an 85" tv. Especially having to pay $700 more for the OLED (or if i wanted bigger, 3k more for an 83" lg c1)
This is where I'm at. If the price premium for the 83" OLED was just $1K, I'd take the dive. As it is, we're talking almost 2X which is a tough pill to swallow.

Nailed it - I'm always looking to the future, too - no doubt my next TV (after the x91J, when I pull the trigger) will be OLED, a 97 incher in 6-8 years, maybe?

Any idea if Costco 90j deal will be available again for 1600 or less during BF?

Hopefully not a stupid question. Per rtings.com, this gets a 7.7 for TV shows. Does going through a 4K Roku help with the deficiencies with the TV?

Not a stupid question.
I would ask this on rtings since they know what exactly is the criteria to rate TV shows, but my best guest would be that it involves the upscaling performance on 720p &1080 content to 4K?

With that said, I have read many people reporting that using a Apple TV or Nvidia Shield Pro has an improved picture on some content.

Check out the AVSForum site. There's a long thread there dedicated to this model, it's quirks and workarounds.

Have you got a link? I just searched and nothing came up quite that specific - was it a thread dedicated to the X91J?

I think the $200 you get back in the form of Amazon rewards is not worth it comparing to Costco return policy and the extra warranty you get from them. To each their own, just got the TV today and it's amazing!! Picture quality and how fast the processor is in regards loading apps with very minimal lag time.

amazon has extended holiday return policy anyway + 10% discount means he used Amazon/Chase card which provides 1 yr extra warranty.

I will probably go with Costco though.
