I've had 2 optomitrists refuse to give me that info because they knew what I was doing with the info instead of buying an identical pair from their shop for $300+. Costco vision center has a machine they pop in front of your eyes for 2 seconds and they give you the pupil distance. Didn't have to be a member, sign anything, or pay for anything.

I've been ordering glasses from Goggles4u for like a decade (five or six pairs per year because they're so darn cheap with promo codes working all the time). I've also ordered from Zenni. This year, I tried KITS when I needed glasses quickly and I'm very happy. Quality on the two pairs I've ordered has been noticeably higher than Goggles4u.

I ordered with anti-glare coating and it came to about $20 shipped. My first order arrived two days after placing it. Second order took 3 or 4 days. Around the time of the second order I also placed an order with Goggles4u (I like having a few pairs and the cost is prescription sunglasses is far more expensive with KITS since you can pretty much always use a 70% off code at Goggles4u). The glasses I ordered from Goggles4u took more than a month to arrive this last time.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that I'm a happy customer of a competitor and I'd still recommend KITS and buy from them again. I would note though that this code is on all the time, so this isn't a new deal or one you can't always get.

Yeah, I did that and then noticed in the order confirmation - verify prescription by phone and then in the email it states they'd contact my doctor about my prescription and to make sure my prescription is accurate because doctors don't always pick up the phone. Not sure if that's some sort of legal thing they just have to state or what.

$11 for a basic prescription if you opt for no frills or coatings. Not bad for a beater pair, or if you're just looking to try a new style and a competitor to Zenni!

As soon as I apply the coupon code, it adds $4.94 (taxes and insurance) in addition to $6.95 for shipping. So it is $11.89 shipped, which I can get most of the time from goggles4u.

Isn't 1.59 index lens (the KITS Premium ) polycarbonate? I see many people here say that the KITS premium lens already has AR. How is the anti scratch on the KITS premium lens? $9 doesn't seem bad for anti scratch. I wonder if I should pay that. Shipping is $6.95 but I see a $4.94 (taxes and insurance) added on top out of nowhere. makes me not want to spend that extra $9 for anti scratch...

Just came back to ask about the 1.59 index lense as well. I only get those two options of either 1.59 KITS Premium or 1.59 KITS Premium Impact Resistant Polycarbonate. It doesn't say what material they used in the normal KITS Premium version. When searching online "1.59 Plastic" I only get discussions about polycarbonate. I absolutely do not want polycarbonate material as it has the worst Abbe Value/ Clearness. No option for other lenses like 1.57 that Zenni/Goggles offer. I emailed them about the material hopefully I hear back soon.

There was a similar BS tax added to the GoPro I bought last summer. The camera was $350 but they charged $50 (?) in tax. After a bunch of research it turned out that they charge that amount then refund the unneeded portion. They did fix it. It was very upsetting and I came close to not buying the camera because of their failure to communicate.

This may or may not apply here.

I ordered Zenni for a relative. what was your experiene with them in terms of accurancy and quality for an rx?
I've ordered 20+ pairs of glasses from Zenni. The prescription has never been an issue. Some frames weren't perfectly fitted (adjust arms, nose pads), but any glasses wearer can do this themselves with no problem.

I'm noob to rx glasses.
Got rx and glasses from Costco
Dang the glasses are expensive, about $230 total.

Is this site legit?
Is this too good to be true?
$10.55 for build your own rx glasses?
Kind of not buying that, considering Costco's was way pricier
I'd say test the waters with a cheap pair from Zenni or goggles4u first.

How did you all get your pupil distance? The doctor I went to refuse to give me the measurements and a couple apps I tried gave me all different number every time
Get a regular ruler, have a friend measure your eyes from pupil to pupil while you look straight ahead. Pd is measured in mm (millimeters). If you're still confused, ask Dr. Google.

Is the PD only needed for progressives?

I am not a lawyer, but I think that under Federal law your health care provider has to release a copy of your medical records. Tell the doctor that you are willing to contact your state Attorney General and licensing board if he refuses. I doubt that he/she wants that trouble.
They will say they don't take the pupil distance. Their optical shop will do that.
