i've never had a problem with egg rebates. but the were in few $ to $10-15 range. no way im paying tax on $100 and doing this bs. i dont even know if i'll ever buy another piece of hardware again.
Another 'followed all the Newegg rebate rules but they deliberately burned me on a technicality' customer here. I'll still do business with them but understand the rebate is always a risk.
It's not a Newegg rebate. You're dealing with CoolerMaster via a 3rd party rebate processor. Many different companies use rebateaccess.com for their rebates and these rebates are generally reliable.
Been a long time since there was a decent FAR item... Not quite FAR these days due to tax though.
Guessing they're clearing these out since TR4 is dead.
TR4 is not dead. As long as there are Epyc CPU's, the threadripper is just a modified Epyc. While rumors are the non-pro models have been cancelled for the 5000 series, the Pro models are still supposed to be launched at some point.
I think the real reason these are being clearanced out is that these weren't good from the get go. A single fan to cool 280W? Blocking memory slots on boards. Etc. Etc. They just never sold well especially at the price point of $130 or whatever they initially were. Those of us with work stations couldn't care less above RGB and would rather have Noctua or the BeQuiet coolers.
obviously you're not paying attn, the rebate is a mfr rebate - it's got nothing to do with Newegg - they made their sale, the processor handles rebates for CM or Season or Corsair or EVGA

seems pretty cool. sadly, i don't trust newegg, especially for a hundred bucks. i have been burned by them before
Watch out on the invoicing side with this rebate. Looks like Newegg changed their backend systems at some point (for the worse as far as customers are concerned). They no longer send out proper order confirmations; i.e., the ones that actually include the item(s) you ordered. And they no longer email invoices. The old system used to email invoices containing all ordered items and those were good to include with rebates.
Now you have to print invoices from your account and when you print them, the printout does not explicitly say at the top that it's an invoice. It just says "order details". There is an invoice# listed under "order summary" and it may need to be highlighted for the rebate processor to see or they may deny the rebate saying that you did not provide a receipt/invoice.
Finally, their system is either running in some weird timezone or it can't tell AM time from PM time. I placed my order at 1:19pm ET on 11/10. However, my order details/invoice shows 2:18am on 11/10 with no timezone listed. If this is some sort of a timezone fubar on their side, someone who ordered a couple of hours earlier may end up with an invoice showing Nov 9 as the date instead of Nov 10 and the rebate is only valid for orders placed on Nov 10. So, watch out!

Thanks for the heads up, mine showed as like 2 am on the 10th! And I ordered in like the afternoon of the 10th . Have any of you been able to register for the rebate online yet? I was told to wait a day, and then wait another day, but it is still not showing as active.

When I called they said the registration will open by end of day next Friday, 11/19. Apparently they're waiting for the vendor to fund the rebate. Seems like someone screwed up and didn't ensure that this was funded prior to the deal going live.
