The OP link for the 2x16GB took me to a desktop RAM version. Here's the link for the laptop one:

Wow what exactly are people using 64gb of this type of memory for?! I consider myself a "power user" and typically hover between 14-20gb of ram usage at any given time depending on what I'm doing, so these days I can easily see 32gb, but daaaang 64gb?!

How many tabs of Chrome can I run with 64GB of ram?
This is probably overkill for 95% of users. 😄

I bought the gskill 3200 32gb laptop memory from Amazon. I put it in my brand new Dell laptop and the laptop wouldn't boot. Tried just one stick. No boot. Put the original RAM back in and the laptop booted. I ordered the 32gb 3200 Crucial kit from Amazon. Swapped the RAM and the laptop booted with zero issues. Moral of the story, stick with Crucial.

I have a workflow that uses 2 linux vms on a linux host. While there are better solutions, vagrant/etc., the simplicity of full vms is nice. Saves me from needing to use AWS.

does this ripjaws work with
dell alienware m15 r1
?

If not I'll settle with 16 gb of ram until chip shortage ends and crashes the price of chips ram and nvme drives.
