Costco screen resolution is 1600x900 which should be illegal in 2021, specially for 17" screens.

Rare to see a 17" as cheap as $500, good deal for those that simply need a large laptop and arent looking for the absolute best performance or gaming

Is this better spec: https://www.staples.com/asus-vivo...t_24485797 [staples.com] compared to HP ?
No, but it is "Finished in classic transparent silver, giving it a level of sophistication that's second to none"

I would have jumped on it if it were a Ryzen 5. 2 more cores and 4 more threads definitely desirable.
I like that chip, too, but my screen's been glitchy for two months, could go out any time, so I've been waiting for BF deals to arrive and needed this. Also getting 5% back from my Chase Freedom card via Walmart purchase. This laptop checked off all my boxes and these 17 inchers don't see the lowest prices like the 15 inchers do, so for me, it was time to act.

Can ram be upgraded to 32gb and storage 1tb nvme gen4??
For the RAM, I think so, but check crucial.com for sure, they still need to add this computer to their system. I'll wait at least a year until the warranty runs out first, though. The SSD can probably be changed out, too. I added more RAM on my last two HP 17" laptops and it made a decent difference, it's the best upgrade, like putting headers on your car.

I kinda get lost here. Anyone else will consider returning the refunded one to the store?

How does it compare to this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...TM9Z9&th=1
That AMD laptop has weaker processor, slower hard disk and inferior display. Processor performance is less than 50% of this Intel. Hard drive is several times slower than this SSD. Yet the AMD laptop is $120 more expensive.

Is it worth the extra $120 over the 15.6 that was $379 the other day? https://slickdeals.net/f/15387727-hp-15-laptop-15-6-1080p-i5-1135g7-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-379-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

For me it was. If anything, the backlit keyboard is a necessity for me. Usually after a while, the letters wear off on my keys if the keyboard isn't backlit. Backlit keys solve this problem because there are no letters to wear out. Also the screen goes to an IPS 17.3" and the SSD size doubles.

Received this today. Y'all were not kidding about the backlit keyboard. That sucker is a little hard to see. Good that it had 3 levels of brightness. W11 is pretty quick. Easily removed unnecessary apps. Oddly, and surprisingly, I was able to install and run Office Professional Plus 2013. Many online posts stating 2013 is not supported with W11. Added BitDefender Total Security as well as MBam Premium with no issues. Well see how it holds up.

I got this laptop. It's huge. I didn't expect it to be this huge. It loads fast. So far I'm just surfing the internet. The clicking sound on the trackpad is pretty loud. The keys are pretty quiet. I'm not sure if the ram or if anything else is upgradeable. For 500 it's a good deal I think.

I just saw this Asus at Staples. Can you compare this Staples one to the Walmart HP one?

So far, so good. Better than my last HP, but that's 7 years old and on it's third battery.
