I had serious reservations about buying because of the price (I got the 515), but it's amazing.
The two use cases where this doesn't make sense is if you are in a heavily populated city with perpetual cars passing you (the alerts would be constant and annoying) or if you exclusively ride trails (unnecessary).

***just realized this model does not have the light as others have said, I would hold off for the light model, the radar picks up approaching objects from behind and starts flashing brighter and more irregular to get the drivers attention too. That is the model I use and won't ride road without it..
