I had all those tools and gave them to my daughter and son in law. The quality is not there for everyday use. The brushed tools are not worth $200 bucks. The kit I recommend are all New Brushless HP from Ryobi. Your not going to get top of the line Brushless power tool set for $319 bucks anywhere. People do work on thier vehicle, and fo small renovations. Brushed tools will not last.
Total BS. Please stop with this nonsense. Many of us here have used NON-brushless tools for 20+ years doing DIY renos, decks, piers, auto work, flips, etc. without any issues. Hell, I have friends in the trades still plugging away with their old brushed tools day after day, year after year.

The actual truth is that 99.9% of DIYers will be just fine without EVER owning a single brushless tool, let alone a top of the line brushless set. If used and cared for properly, most brushed tools will do the job, and probably outlive their owners.

Bought this set + the orbit sander 3-4 weeks ago when they sold for $199. Ended up returning the sander for $47 so the set cost me exactly $152. So far I tried the drill, driver and the circular saw and they are not bad.
I've seen people returning tools to HD without boxes and always wondered how that went.. Can you fill me in?
Do they give you current retail price for them, or what?
So if I only wanted 3 of these tools, I could return the others to knock the price down further?

Exactly, and you can always replace the carbon brush, I am still using brushed tools, no problem at all.

From all the tool sets out now, how would you rate the better line of the different brands (Ryobi HP vs Milwaukee fuel vs … )?
Generally speaking, Milwaukee is the best. If you want to check out review, you can check it out this channel
https://www.youtube.com/c/ProjectFarm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpjBJ8aQ3NE

Then its Dewalt, Makita
Bosch
and then Ryobi

Many will argue, but if you want to invest only into one brand, overall you cant go wrong with Milwaukee.

Nothing really special about it, but they are great to have then you need them. However, anyone with Ryobi tools should definitely consider one of the area light/lanterns as well as the fans. One power outage and you'll appreciate having them.

There was a sander in the video? I couldn't see it.

It's actually quite excellent, but it chews up batteries like they're nothing. But having a few 4AH batteries you'll be good for many tasks.

This is a solid deal on a solid set of homeowner tools and will likely be fine for most homeowers (the typcial homeowner will not miss the functionality/durability of better *and* more expensive tools) and includes a smart range of tool types.

If you think you'll be getting serious about using these tools, as with any kit, carefully look at each of the tools and at various kits. So many combo kit choices. For example, if you think you'll routineloy use the circular saw in this kit, note it is a 5-1/2 inch blade model with a 1-1/2 inch capacity. So it will cut 2x lumber laid flat. That makes the saw lighter, more compact to store, and easier to use. But 7-1/4 inch bladed models are the "standard" size.

Milwaukee, Ryobi, and RIDGID (exclusively sold by Home Depot and, with registration, include lifetime service agreements) cordless tools are made by the same company, Hong Kong based TTI. In order of "tougher" to less "tough", with prices to match: Milwaukee, RIDGID, Ryobi.

Thanks OP. I went online to find this set and found another set that appears to be the same set + the sprayer for the same price.

This does seem like the better buy. I canceled my previous order and went ahead and got this.
