I am professional audio and video specialist. Weather conditions will effect your tv,regardless covered or not. Get ready for lot's of service calls. I suggest you to build case just let screen exposed. You will have better chance hopefully. Good luck.
Bought this for my office, for late-night TV viewing without waking up the kids. I ran the vegetable video, and mine has very minimal blooming. I compared it with my other two (much more expensive) TVs, and I don't see any differences in blooming worth mentioning. Certainly, nothing like the other guy's posted photos. I did tweak a few settings on the U6GR5: turned the brightness to normal, changed to color balance a bit to get rid of a bit of the green, and changed the contrast a little. The colors are good and the blacks too. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a fancy color calibrator that I use on all my TVs and monitors to make sure they look as good as possible. I haven't run it on this TV yet, but I'm not sure I even need to, since it looks good enough as-is.
ug6r is only 60hz, your archaic babble seems like you think it's 120hz

What exactly does Costco warranty cover?
It is 3 years, plus 2 years if you use their CC. 5 years of coverage for no additional cost.

It you use the Costco Citi Credit Card there is a 2 yr. mfg. warranty, plus that warranty is extended 2 more yrs. on the same card. I just had my Vizio P65-E1 crap out on me after 3 yrs purchased on my Citi Card. Started out with a power issue and then the TV panel went bad at same time. Vizio said it was beyond economic repair, I followed all proper parameters to file a claim with Citi benefits and about 4 weeks later was fully refunded to my Citi card. Don't forget this didn't cost me for anything for using this form of payment. More than pleased with the results using Costco Citi Card.

if my friend order the TV to my address using his citi costco card. Will I still be able to get the 2 years extended warranty ?

I don't honestly don't know but doubt it as his name on card is original purchaser.

I dont have Costco Citi card. it would be nice to have additional warranty.

Intially I was considering TCL 55s535 from walmart, here I am getting additional warranty. So I am leaning towards this.

Last year at this same time I purchased the Hisense 55" 4K UHD TV (R6040G) at Target for $199. It's been used daily in my parents living room since then. Their main complaints are that screen feels dark and the viewing angles get really bad the wider you go out.

Is the U6GR5 a significant upgrade that may address these issues?

Just picked this up the 55 from Costco they had a bunch there in the queens my area. Saw that Best Buy has them also in 65 inch. TBH I think this tv is the actual best BLack Friday deal to be had.

Best Buy lists it as the same u6g tv but with Roku instead. It's a winner since I prefer Roku as the tv os and just ad a google tv box on anyway
Man this TV is nice. I got the 65" one from Best Buy and I am loving it. I did put it in movie picture mode because I like the warmer color. That is the only setting I have changed. I think the Roku settings are a little different than Android so I will have to wait for rtings to test this TV. Does anyone know if the builtin Roku and apps provide 4K input? I have a 4K Roku Express. I just wonder which one provides the best video input. The built-in or the HDMI device.

Watching the Patriots game right now. Still seeing a bit of blurry pixels around players from the live play long distance camera. Is this just normal? I'm watching on the Xfinity Roku app. Closeups are completely clear.

Is this better than the $399 Insignia - 55" Class F50 Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV from Best Buy? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insi...Id=6450248

I have that problem with the Xfinity app on certain channels. I think their stream app has a lower bitrate which surfaces on live games. This is on a higher end Bravia too.

Okay. Maybe that is why. Other than that so far I love this TV. I think I finally found the perfect size for my seating. I'm about 8 feet away.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's seems like a waste to have VRR on a 60hz panel.
I don't think it's a waste. No more screan tearing when gaming. Takes a lot of horsepower to run games 4k @ 120Hz. Don't know why people keep on mentioning the new consoles LOL. As if they were capable of that (maybe on really low settings but at that point it looks like garbage).

Mine is a smeary mess in live tv streaming and games… if it's just in one app I would assume it's just that app
