Same here. I ordered Monday with an expected delivery of this Friday, but tracking info doesn't show any movement yet.

I tried both Sony WH1000XM4 and AirPods Max for a week. I can definitely vouch for better audio quality even at higher volumes on max, the sound on max doesn't change much with or without noise cancellation on. XM4's are muddy and lose some details at higher volumes, their bass is very heavy though(depends on your ears, I like little base with more detailed sound). For $439, they are absolutely worth it, with or without apple eco system. Also they are heavy but don't get warm after few hours compared to XM4's. If you just want to have decent pair of headphones XM4's are also great choice. If you want little more detailed sound (hands down incredible sound and call quality for a normal music listener) these are worth it.
Battery won't drain as fast even without the case. I do not travel much, so can't speak for a regular travel experience.

I hate apple for that stupid case and not adding lightning to 3.5mm cable. For the headphones which cost almost as much as a laptop, they should automatically include these accessories.

It's $190 extra compared to XM4's but it may be worth it if you plan to use these for years(aluminum body definitely improves those odds).

ive returned electronics over 5-10 years, refunded. its up to manager, but yeah they dont care in general.

Last week I got AirPods max from target and I see the warranty till 5/15/2022 instead of one year from the purchase date. When I reached out apple support, they said that the device would have released or purchased on 5/15/2021 so the warranty is set to 5/15/2022. Also they told me to reach out to seller for more information. So I returned t that product and got another new device from target. But surprisingly I am still that the device is set to same warranty expiration date. I don't understand it. Has anyone experience it? Please advise. Thanks

That doesn't have anything to do with warranty. That post is about a spoiled manchild that got 2 years of use out of his piano in perfectly working condition and felt entitled to return it when he felt like it for no reason other than "my son doesn't want it anymore"
