For walmart, you can choose to pay a down payment to them plus tax. If you decide not to pay any down payment, you just pay tax and the rest adds to your monthly bill with att/veirizon.

This is a pretty nice deal and I use it almost every year for me and wife. It's almost like getting a new free phone every year. For ex - Buying the iPhone 10-11-12 once minus the $300 with gc for $500. Next Black Friday buy another one for same price and sell your old one unlocked at marketplace for around 500. With the initial spend of around 500, you are getting a newer phone for almost very little to no cost.
Edit - The phone sometimes is sold at a slightly higher cost and there is also an activation fees.

So is it effectively similar to buying an iphone for full price from Apple itself (but with a 300 dollar gift card via walmart) without having to go through the shenanigans of trade-in and unlimited plan from verizon? I dont have an unlimited plan and verizon will not give me any discount to buy any iphone unless I both switch to an unlimited plan AND trade in a phone. Thank you.

Thank you for posting your experiences! In the past did it mention on the website that the gift card is included? I'll be using Walmart + to get the early access so I just want to make sure that I don't miss anything. You have had no issues with buying multiple phones in the past? Any tips you have come across over the years?
