As someone who has a pixel 6 Pro, I highly recommend just getting the 6. It's so much cheaper and the Pro has no features that are worth the pricetag over the non pro. If I could do it again, I'd get the pixel 6.

The phone is big on the hands and quite heavy. Be warned. You'll end up missing smaller phone size of 5.7to 6.2 inch screens

Nova launcher is immensely customizable, and I can't recommend it enough. You can move the stock Pixel launcher elements wherever you want, among MANY other options.

Pros? The 6 is a whole new beast, first processor made by google and finally new camera module. It will take amazing photos and videos.

Cons? Cost more?

Seriously though if anyone was ever in the market for a Pixel this is the one to get hands down. Ill be upgrading even though my 3A is running like new 3 years later.
My 3a was running great until I made the mistake of upgrading to android 12.

Significantly, yes. Weight is especially noticeable. Size is fairly significant, especially the camera bump. I hate iOS. I'm only using the iPhone 13 for the required number of days to unlock it.

it didn't fix it for me, here's my experience with the fingerprint reader:

After this morning's update, fingerprint sensor went from ish to pretty damn good with a POS screen protector. Delete existing fingerprints and add 2. Give it a try. Very usable now.

I just got the 5a 5g and it's great unless you play a game on it, then it slows waaaaay down.
Battery life is excellent, but I really miss rapid charging
Wish I had held out for the 6. Might ebay the 5a and put it towards a 6.

I will, and prob will still get one. but physical zoom lenses will always be better than ai. so i'm bummed this brand new shiny phone doesn't even do a REAL 2x optical. sad
thats why i am being forced to get the pro. the problem started when p4 came out google said tele is better choice then ultrawide and got roasted by the reviewers. most reviewers r on appl payroll and have an agenda then the p5 came with no tele,
but the zoom on p4 is better then p6 but the p6pro the zoom so totally awesome close to 9x
i love taking moon shots

I'm sure I'll repeat what others have said, but the 6 is good, not great, not excellent. I'm upgrading from a 3a that I bought in November 2019 for $279 brand new (64gb).

Pros:
- good screen, no flickering or anything
- no performance lag or hiccups
- updates for 5 years
- biometric scanning to log into apps is quick
- good camera
- value, price to performance ratio

Cons:
- no headphone jack (for this thickness)
- can't really tell a difference between 3a and 6 photo quality (I've pixel-peeped, and it's negligible)
- biometric scanning to unlock phone sucks
- big boi size (I don't mind the heft though)

I'm not a gamer, but I do productivity stuff on my phone, so I can't speak to fps or anything like that.

Overall, meh.

Also, the fingerprint scanner is significantly better if your hands aren't dry and cracked. Mine unfortunately are because I wash my hands about 30 times a day. Lotion helps.

Pixel 6 Pro owner here. The regular Pixel 6 is just fine and it's a great deal here. The extra 6 Pro features are really nice though, but it doesn't seem worth the extra $300 (maybe if it was only $200 more, sure), but I did it anyway and it's fine.

i have had 0 issues with fingerprint scanner. not sure what exactly it is people are experiencing. seems like one of those issues that people who need to complain, complain about.

I don't think target does trade in like BB or Google store.
yes thanks. In that case your old functional phone wont be swapped to get a reasonable value. Two months ago I traded my Samsung S9 (used 2.5 yrs) to buy Pix 4a from google store. I got 175$ discount on Pix4a and 2.5yrs old phone for 175$ was a great deal for me. Google dont give 175$ for S9 anymore.

edit: they now offer 165$ for S9 and 150$ for 4a !!! Lol. S9 is older than 4a and they are demeaning their own phone over Samsung, such a joke! Peace

I am on the same boat like you. Non gamer/non selfie person should not upgrade their phone every year just because of bigger battery/brighter screen and res. Keep your 3a for sometime.

So, the Pixel 5a for $399, or the Pixel 6 for $549? Pros and cons anyone?
Pixel 5a 3 years of guaranteed security updates, whereas Pixel 6 is guaranteed 5 years of security updates.
