I only get one chance to port my landline number to Mint and that is when I activate the Mint sim?
To answer my own question - a chat with Mint customer service confirmed you only get one chance and that is when you activate the Mint SIM card.

I got this mintmobile service 1 month ago. The phone signal is very low (2bars) in south bay california and many incoming calls are going to voice mail directly. Does anyone know of any signal booster that could raise the signal level at home for mintmobile service? Thank you!

I have a silly logistics question and I apologize if this has been answered.

I'm on an iPhone xs running cricket via my nano sim. This iPhone has dual sim capabilities so I tried mint's 7 day trial on my eSIM and found it to be acceptable so I think I want to take this deal and port over my cricket number instead of use the new number they gave me for the eSIM. So I guess two questions:

Can I port the cricket number over to the eSIM via the mint mobile app where I signed up for the trial?

Can an iPhone XS run mobile coverage on the eSIM ONLY? Or would I have to get a physical mint mobile sim?

Thanks!

Mint uses Tmobile towers so at least you will have CHEAPER trash !
and most of the MVNO companies like Mint are downgraded when Tmobile has too much traffic.....

Ask around and see if ATT or Verizon are better in your area and find a MVNO that uses them !
Good Luck
Perfectly happy w it

Use a referral code and the referrer gets a $100 credit when transferring a number from att or Verizon. If your setting up more than one number, set them up sequentially, referring each addition al number to yourself.

I just switched to Mint from Cricket and it's way better, Cricket (AT&T) you had to pay for hotspot ability which is idiotic because it's just a virtual switch they flip on your account to let you do it. ALSO Cricket (AT&T) had the worst voice call quality, they were also kicking me off in February saying my (Moto E6 Plus) 1-year old (to me) phone was "too old". so I am a little salty already....

It's confusing ad copy. But if you buy directly from Mint, you have 1/7+45 days to activate, otherwise only until 1/7 if you buy it from Best Buy, Target. That's my read.
Also if you buy through Mint, expect a $10+ recovery fee that BB/Target won't charge. If activating by 1/7 works for you, I'd buy from BB or Target.

I did this last year. eSIM is working now for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which is REALLY nice to have to free up the SIM card slot for traveling or if you need a work sim card.

My family of 5 all switched to Mint from T-Mobile, and since they use the same network (though deprioritized) we have had no problems. Actually going on 14 months now, and we saved a lot by switching. It's no joke. We now pay $180/yr x 5 lines = $900/yr total, versus with T-Mobile we were paying $175/mo for 5 lines=$2100/yr. So a total thus far of over $1200 saved and we have seen no difference in usability.

Highly recommend Mint Mobile.
