I don't understand why apply discount then tip to make it same as discounted price. The extra charges after discount itself is $10 which includes their pay for the delivery
Out of that $10 less than half goes to the driver. In my area only $2.50 goes to the driver if it's less than 5 miles.

So if you order a bottle of wine that is $1000. from a restaurant server you would tip the same as you were getting a $20. bottle because its "1 bottle". Its the same service, so they should not be given more? You dont know because you have not worked in the business. Believe me your words would change instead of sounding like your entitled. There will always be tightwads tippers I guess.
On the flip side, are you going to give a $200 tip on that $1000 bottle of wine and a $4 tip on that $20 bottle of wine if it was delivered by Instacart or some other delivery service? Dine-in service is much different than delivery.

I remember when UberEats first rolled out, it said tips were NOT recommended. And now the tips are required and the app also charge all sorts of fees and marked up prices. I don't blame drivers bit I quit using those apps.

Please dont leave 40% discount tips to the drivers that sacrifice their car to make a living. Ive seen it too many times from serving tables and delivery jobs. Good service should not be discounted.
While I generally agree with that statement, I note that DoorDash only allows upfront tipping whereas Uber Eats allows you to tip after you actually received the service and know if it was good or not.

My last DD order from Cheesecake Factory was missing a $10 slice. I texted the driver and asked if he might have forgotten another bag but never got a response. In hindsight I would've not tipped him as much as I did.
