For example $749 gets you the entry level LG gram https://slickdeals.net/f/15367825-lg-gram-15-6-ultralight-laptop-for-749-costco
80Wh battery, up to 21hr of mixed usage vs the lenovo's 10 hrs. Better Intel AX201 wifi 6/BT 5.1, thunderbolt, 2.47lbs, 16GB LPDDR4X 4266MHz, full magnesium body, better build quality/components.
Not saying this Ideapad 5 is a bad deal, it has a higher resolution screen (though at 14" its wasted), and touchscreen but id rather have the LG Gram all day everyday over it.

Is this AMD good for speed vs battery?
I need to power productivity applications, and multiple monitors. USB-c and HDMI out simultaneously?

Battery life, poor wifi/BT NIC and it enters the LG gram territory, which is the gold standard for premium lightweight laptops.

Well, you said it.. It's not a touchscreen, which my daughter requires. The touchscreen version of the LG Gram 15 is about 1200. The 14 inch is even more expensive because it is a 2 in 1.
The non touchscreen laptops will always be a better deal than a touchscreen and if you don't need it then go for it. Some of us want or need a touchscreen, so there is really no point in comparing apples and oranges.
Thanks.
Thanks.
