This deal is not worth the bother. MQA is a gimmick. It's not truly lossless high resolution. Qobuz is better if you care about audio quality and functionality. Qobuz has a website with deep filtering for metadata and they also have booklets. If you're okay with standard lossless or lossy compression than Apple, Amazon, and Spotify are the way to go.
Tidal won't survive through the next economic slump. Offering ridiculous low price deals like this is a sign of weakness.
I've had such a positive experience with it. I use it every day and it's blown me away. You will hear sounds in songs that you've never heard before on your favorite albums.
lol this sounds like a fake paid review, but I really do like it. I have every other service as well and this is definitely #1 in quality if you're an audiophile.

SAME HERE
Bestbuy is a criminal sleazy company.
Tidal sucks big time! It's like we got suckered into a scam. They make it so hard to cancel.
Absolutely false information.
Im unable to cancel the service myself through the online account management page at Bestbuy. It takes me to a screen telling me I must speak with a customer rep first. Other people are reporting the same sleazy tactic being imposed on them. This absolutely scammy behavior.
Bestbuy and Tidal are both garbage criminal companies. Report them to your credit fraud department. Report them to the FTC.

No I did follow the process and other 18 min wait while I was taking care of other things it was a breeze
Go be an adult and jam your tunes out. You only live once.
What a stupid post. No, keep being a responsible adult, not getting fired, and doing a good job raising your kids! this poster is obviously part of the millennial "everything revolves around my immediate wants" generation who can't hold a job or figure out how to be happy. plus, Tidal is stupid anyway, there's lossless in apple music now.
I have been doing this riding on free or cheap Tidal subscriptions for at least 4 years now. The only nuisance is that I have to copy play lists over every time.
I had no problem with canceling through Best Buy.
That's not the case for me. I was given a 46 minute wait time yesterday evening. I could not sit there and stare at a blank screen for that long. So I did other things. When I went to check my wait time it said that the "agent has closed the check".
Then I start a new chat. My wait time is stated as being 55 minutes. Got the same message "are agents are dealing with unexpected volume at the moment". So I wait and wait. Periodically I check the chat window. It's still showing a 55 minute wait time. I start reading some news articles. Then I check back and once again the chat is closed. Just like before. They don't give you a pop-up to grab your attention. It's a frustrating experience.
Fortunately, I used a virtual card and locked the card so it can't be charged. I'll try the call-me option after Thanksgiving.
I didn't have a good opinion of Bestbuy before this Tidal hassle. From now on I'll avoid these two companies. There's no reason to buy anything from Bestbuy and there are better streaming services than Tidal such as Qobuz and Apple Music. Tidal didn't even have the music I was seeking. Their catalog is small and now they block third party API access to the Master streams.
Did it ever occur to you that giving away free trials could be part of a larger scheme to artificially inflate Tidal's subscriber numbers in order to defraud prospective private equity investors by misrepresenting the company's market share?
See this article from Forbes:

Tidal has also been investigated for inflating song play counts using millions of fake accounts. It's a scammy company top to bottom.
You have done a great disservice by spreading misinformation about the cancellation process for BestBuy/Tidal. You lied when you stated that cancellation can be done by the customer on their own. No it can't. Only a Bestbuy rep can cancel the Tidal account.

I disagree. Hearing MQA with a proper DAC and decent enough headphones or speakers, there is a noticeable difference to some ears. If you're a casual user then just use Spotify or YouTube. I'm not knocking any of the other lossless formats or saying that MQA is better but it is still a high quality sound format that does have some advantages over others. But of course everyone has the right to their own opinion. Different strokes for different folks.
