It appears that Ubiquiti's U6-Pro access point is in stock and out of the early access program. My Ubiquiti stock alert didn't trigger because they've apparently made a new sku listing for it (or something).

Max order quantity of 2. Reddit thread suggests that UI may be counting prior purchases towards that limit.

Does not include a required PoE injector. I bought the U-PoE-AT [ui.com].

Access Point WiFi 6 Pro
SKU: U6-Pro-US

Specs:
Indoor, dual-band WiFi 6 access point that can support over 300 clients with its 5.3 Gbps aggregate throughput rate.

It can also isolate your guest traffic to ensure optimal security and speed. The U6 Pro also operates at full 4x4 MIMO with 160 MHz channels to create high-capacity wireless uplinks and facilitate faster data transfer. It can be set up in minutes and fully managed with the UniFi Network application*.

I don't see it anywhere on the product page, but does this not support ofdma?
It would seem silly it wouldn't since the U6-Lite does: https://store.ui.com/products/unifi-ap-6-lite

Both the lite and lr make mention of it on the product pages, while it is absent on pros page. Seems like it was intentionally omitted.

I actually recently bought EAP660 HD for around $150 (after amex discount). But I don't know which one to keep, U6 Pro or EAP660 HD. I just started so no eco-system lock yet.

Doesn't require an injector if you have a POE switch.
Thanks, So you can run these on a netgear unmanaged POE switch, no problem?

I would assume so, but I'm running them on a Ubiquiti switch.

I just pulled my U6-LR out because my Roku Ultra didn't get along with it. I tried so many different configurations to get it working, but no joy. I'll probably just put it on eBay.

How does this compare to the Wi-Fi 6 long range that's been out for a little bit now? I guess what I'm asking is if I already own one of those, would this be any better for home use?
Quote from Snewpy :
The primary technical differences are as follows:

U6LR Max TX Power: 2.4GHz@26dBM / 5GHz@26dBM
U6Pro Max TX Power: 2.4GHz@22dBM / 5GHz@26dBM

U6LR MIMO: 2.4GHz 4x4 / 5Ghz 4x4
U6Pro MIMO: 2.4GHz 2x2 / 5GHz 4x4

U6LR Throughput: 2.4GHz 600 Mbps / 5GHz 2.4 Gbps
U6Pro Throughput: 2.4GHz 573.5 Mbps / 5GHz 4.8 Gbps

U6LR Antenna gain: 2.4GHz 4 dBi / 5GHz 5.5 dBi
U6Pro Antenna gain: 2.4GHz 4dBi / 5GHz 6 dBi

U6LR Data Sheet [ui.com]
U6Pro Data Sheet [ui.com]
The perceived limitations of the AP have been covered pretty well elsewhere in this thread, and @Snewpy did well to summarize the key differences. As for a complete side-by-side comparison of currently available hardware...

Ubiquiti used to have a comparison chart [ubnt.com] that included the U6-Pro, but now it 404's. Their current spec comparison at the bottom of this page [ui.com] doesn't include the U6-Pro. Curious.

Earlier this year McCann Tech posted a table and commentary [evanmccann.net] comparing the specs of Ubiquiti's WiFi 6 AP's (that includes the U6-Pro).

It is a POE+ (802.3AT) device so as long as your unmanaged POE switch supports that protocol then yes, no problem.

If you are wired out for 2.5Gbps backhaul and plan on keeping these devices for many years to come the EAP660HD wins every category but total throughput on 5ghz is a bit smaller. In the long run does not matter since the U6Pro will bottleneck before it even takes advantage of that full 5ghz throughput. The equivalent of putting a V8 engine in a car but limiting its speed to 75mph, lol. For the price you got it, and since your not in either eco system, you should not second guess yourself stick with what you got. The TP-Link EAP APs have been named one of the best for many years in a row for a reason.

Anyway to contact Ubiquiti store fast? I decide to cancel my order (and keep EAP660 HD instead).

I went with pro mainly because I don't honestly see a benefit to the faster 2.4ghz. That band is always crowded and never gets good speed, if you need speed 5ghz is the answer, I use the 2.4ghz for all my slow devices that just need some sort of basic connectivity.

The other benefit is the 2.5gbps port, for me that is useless since it will likely be years before I have internet faster than that and I don't do local file transfers and I don't have any switches that support it. I'd personally rather save the $30.

I've always wanted to try ubiquiti as well so that nudged me towards them, and I haven't had great experiences with tplink, maybe their business stuff is better.

If 2.5/5gbps switches weren't so expensive then, I'd probably just go with the tplink, but I'll wait for those to get cheaper and just get a 6e access point at the same time.
