Extremely overpriced. Available from HP at $100 cheaper price.

It seems the unit on HP site has no touchscreen, and no backlit keyboard.

Some people might be able to score a $50 Costco online shopping coupon, making the Costco deal clearly more attractive given better hardware.

You can start from the below link and customize and use the coupon code WINTER5 and will still get lower price.

Correct! HP was clearing Win10 stock, so gave it away for cheaper. But those prices don't exist anymore Frown

And CostCo lets you return if you do not like it.
CostCo will give you extra warranty...so make sure to add that to your $779 price.

No, it is not a 2-1. Just Touch.

Their extra warranty is not as easy as it sounds. You must go through their troubleshooting steps to initiate a return in the 2nd year. My daughter is away at school and the screen went blank on her Costco purchased HP. Yep, they insisted I trouble shoot before returning. fast-forward a month and she will be home for Thanksgiving. I will see what the "Concierge" has to say then.

Most warranty service is that bad, unless you get the on-site service and they usually still do that. I usually just sit there and pretend I'm doing the steps with the online person who is totally clueless and just going through some script.

Not to pick on Dell, but a recent Dell had the adapter into which the power adapter went, died. Luckily, it is not soldered to the motherboard, but rather attached via a cable and pins. Called for warranty support, but sadly that "Part" was not part of any of their scripts. Spent a good 30-60 minutes going....yes I tried that...Had to end up shipping the laptop back. It would have been a lot cheaper for them to mail me the $0.25 cent part, but it was not part of the script.

I love how we now hear crickets when you point out that the price is actually cheaper on Costco. People spew a bunch of nonsense until they're called out on it.

Ha-ha. It seems HP offers a barebone basic config as the starting point, and then charges more than 3x for each upgrade. For example, 16Gb RAM is $80, whereas one can buy 2x8 RAM for $50 minus 2x4 RAM in the base config (-$25).

Then the SSD upgrade to 512 is $70, and one can get a 512 for $40-50, minus the cost of 256 that's included in the base config (-$30).

Costco probably negotiates a fixed config for what it costs, without the upsell shenanigans.

I went through this with my daughter's Chromebook. It was clearly not fixable. i sent them a couple of pictures and then returned it to the warehouse. Not hard.

why do you say win10 stock? its a software that is free to upgrade to windows 11...silly assumptions. Things go on sales cause they need to make quarterly earnings and etc. They'll sacrifice some profits in order to meet their earnings. Things go on sales also because its not popular and they just need to clear their inventory of it.
