I picked up a Blink camera on a super slick deal when it was $40 per camera back in June. It's okay. The only benefit seems the battery - I havent yet had to replace it. That said, it doesnt pick up wifi very well so you're anyways limited in the range you can have it. The camera quality is okay. App is okay. It's generally very slow - opening live view, responding to notifications, accessing saved videos. I was using their Blink brand flash drive and I recently had to reformat it because the app stopped recognizing it. So the drive did not die but that was annoying. Honestly it feels subpar compared to the Ring ecosystem in basically every aspect other than price and the fact that you can save locally. I have no plans to buy any more. Although it would be nice if Ring offered a local save option but I guess that would defeat their business model.

Mine picks up WiFi perfectly fine, maybe you need to upgrade to a mesh setup?

I just picked up the dual outdoor pack at best buy for $100. I have heard mixed reviews but for being completely wireless and ran off battery and Alexa compatible, seemed like a no brainer for me. Not for everyone I'm sure but the reviews I watched off youtube were pretty solid.

Do you need a subscription for this ?

Yes unless you have a blink account before they took away free storage a few years back

I have several Blink XT2 and Wyze v3 with a window mount. I don't subscribe to either, but from a utility perspective, Wyze is far superior. The clarity of video, especially nigh vision is amazing on Wyze v3. Plus, with an SD card I can record two and half days worth of continuous video (can bump it up to a couple more days with a bigger SD card) without any cool off period; enough for me to go back and retriever any data if I notice any incidents.

Wrong as well. The night vision isn't bad at all as long as you have a decent connection.

As mentioned earlier, Eufy is a better system which doesn't require a subscription. They are constantly improving their service and are working on a way to sync local video storage with cloud service providers and/or an external USB drive. It comes at a premium price compared to Blink, but after you buy-in, there will be a monthly savings when compared to Blink.

Lots of people recommending XT2 over this, does XT2 records more than 2 hours of video without a subscription plan?
I returned my XT2 bought from woot because we could store only 2 hour of video, keeping the blink outdoor camera bought from Costco n planning to use 256GB usb to store few days of video clips.

Gave up on this system. Battery not rechargeable, motion detection flicky, night view sucks.

I have no problem getting 6+ months out of mine, running over a year on a couple that aren't in a high traffic area. Although I do agree that the subscription stinks, I was lucky to get grandfathered in by signing up a few years ago, so if you're looking for free monitoring then Eufy is probably the way to go. I do love my Blinks and they work well for me, but probably wouldn't pay for a subscription on them.

I have grandfather free cloud as well, there is for some strange reason a difference between ability to use local storage between the outdoor camera and XT2 even when using the same sync module with USB port.
