The fact she falls asleep 14 minutes into the movie should tell you something,,,
I'm surprised that 4K Blu-ray players prices are not much lower. (It's not as if they have recording capabilities.)

The technology has been out for years and even though it provides better picture/sound quality over streaming, it's not very popular.... by now, it should be priced at 20% over 1080p Blu-ray players.
Not even remotely true. Put a deal alert on 4k Blu ray and watch for sales, you can get tons of good stuff for $10 or under

One big reason they're not popular is the ass-raping prices of the discs. I bought one of these players over a year ago and to date I have bought 1 UHD movie box set, that's it. You can either buy crap/old movies for $10 or good/recent movies for $20+... that's your choice. Not much of a choice IMO.

Who buys movies anymore ???

I know, I know, UHD discs have way more quality than streaming...

don't matter to me, ever since I got a girlfriend I haven't watched more than 14-minutes of any movie.

Isn't this one bad with tons of skipping issues reported by a lot of people? Waiting for the Panasonic 420 to go back on sale.

Yes you can "BUT" Blu-ray players are really not ideal for streaming.
They're the equivalent of using a smart TV from 2008~2009
Most do not utilize one of the main TV OS but weird proprietary systems that resemble early smart TVs.
Plus they have very weak processors.

No. I've had this player for a few months now. I wouldn't recommend it for streaming. It doesn't have an App Store.

Only apps offered right now are: Prime Video, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Vudu, Tubi, Fox News, Pandora, Slacker, SiriusXM, Spotify, iHeartRadio, YuppTV, and Berliner Philharmoniker.

I bought this player for 150.00 back in late 2018. It has its annoying problem, for one it doesn't Auto switch to Dolby vision for discs with Dolby vision. And if you leave Dolby vision on, it ruins the color if you play non Dolby vision discs. Good player though, plays my movie copy's from a USB drive

The volume of sales isn't there to lower the price, but not sure how you can arbitrarily arrive at 20% more for the price.
