I wouldn't use a food processor to chop of steak in to ground burger.

But if you are in to that, any Ninja would be a better choice, because the blades are butch sharp. In fact they are so sharp plan on cutting your finger the first tie you touch the blade to gauge it and walk around for 2 hours with a finger that is shedding blood the drops of tears, nad keeps reopening for the next 6 hours. Yes, they are that sharp.

By being that sharp, they cut clean and the meat will be less macerated than when using duller blades.

In fact, anyone buying a ninja blender/food processor should invest in these type gloves:
https://www.amazon.com/Apaffa-Res...4447&psc=1
(that is a quick random google search, I have not used this exact product, just linked so you know what type of gloves I am talking about).

Of course a brutal edge can still cut through them, but most cuts aren't backed by much force. These gloves will be your savor till a year goes by and the blades lose a bit of their edge.
Kind of related... I use my electric smoker with family packs of cheap whole skinless chickens breasts and thighs and pulverize the leftovers in the Ninja. Makes great chicken salad or a good use for leftover turkey or ham. Not quite a "ground" texture but good enough.

At least with a high powered ninja and its butch sharp blades, the chicken get's chopped to size quickly with a minimum number of rotations, opposed to a long blend time needed with a weak powered, blunt bladed blender. Sounds like a bad idea either way, but I might try that. ninja might pull it off.

I've had this probably 4 years and it's held up well. it's not quiet, but as has been pointed out it's a 1500w motor so it's not going to be. crushes ice like a beast, handles dough like a champ. it's a bit hard to clean, but that's my biggest complaint. if you're in the market for a blender $100 is a no brainer for this

I fill up the mixer bowl with rough cut chunks. Toss in some onion and pickle pieces and juice to taste and it is processed in maybe 5 seconds. There may be a few larger pieces left if I packed them in there too tight. I move them around with a plastic spoon and give it another quick whirl. I added mayo in there directly once and tried to save a step but was not ideal. The added thick mayo didn't allow the relatively dry meat to move around enough and get consistently mulched up. The result is not small "shredded" or pulled slivers of chicken but much easier than manually doing all that.. It more resembles a typical ham salad texture. Which I make in the Ninja too...

I haven't tried it yet. When I try I'm going use a knife to chop a steak in to 4 equal pieces. Then cut each piece in half lengthwise across the grain. Then cut all pieces in to 3/4" squares.

cutting lengthwise across the grain will make for a much better result.

Then pulse it with food processor blade till chunks still look 'too big'

Then dump it all out on a cutting board and sort out the biggest obvious chunks and give them a rough chop down to size.

Sounds complicated, but it's not and wont take much time. The minimal chopping will save a lot of knife time.

My stomach is growling for BBQ chicken sliders now.

Does anyone know how this compares to an Indian mixer/blender? Appreciate any inputs
Purchased this 2 weeks back, wife wanted all in one, as this one comes with food processor. We had preeti mixer & ultra grinder in the past, if you are a south indian, it does a good job in making dosa batter., better than preeti. In fact, preeti has only 550 watts power & this one has 1500w, it does make lot of sound, may be because of its power. Overall wife is happy as she doesnt have to deal with 3 appliances.. mixer grinder & food processor.

I'm guessing this doesn't do such a good job with crushing whole spices into powders? My wife likes using the small jar that comes with the Preeti mixer/grinder to make spice powders. I don't want to buy this and then also have to keep using the Preeti one. Gotta free up some counter space for this.

There are 2 single serve cups, we are using one for chutneys & spices and the other cup for juices. We totally wanted to avoid preeti and so far it has lived up to the expectations. The only caveat is. jars are plastic vs steel in preeti.

So far we tried dosa batter once and it came out good. I would rate 9/10 in comparison with grinder.

This or Kohl's auto-iq model for $130(plus extra discount) ?
I would go for the Kohl's auto-iq one even though it's 1400w, it'll also have an additional 15% off making it $110
