New deal is do a free trial of Google One (upgrades storage on email, photos, and cloud) to get 3 months of Stadia Pro free. After that use the $10 off they give you for joining Stadia and buy a $40 game for $30. If you buy a game for $30 or more you get Google Stadia Premier Edition free.
You mean delivers WHEN and IF the slack ass delivery drivers at FedEx decide to deliver it. Still waiting on mine from the first deal that was posted. Also still waiting on something that was shipped the first week of November!
What's your definition of a FAILURE? Manufactured date?
Having original stock for more than two years and not needing to manufacture more. So it's either a failure where they failed to sell as many as they expected or they are really bad at managing their warehouse to keep the stock fresh.
The one exception here could be indicated by the packaging. If they have this Controller + Chromecast in a single box then maybe they are selling their individual controllers just fine, but the old Chromecast Ultra is killing sales of this bundle. But, if this bundle is made up of the individually boxed items, then it is a better indication that no one is buying these things.
I've liked Stadia so far. Super convenient to just switch tvs or play on my tablet or phone. It's not going to replace my computer but for casual gaming it's great.

The fact they have units from before launch in their warehouses. Clearly they have piles they couldn't sell for 2 years. If that's not a FAILURE, I don't know what is.

They really have the regular price set way to high on the standalone controller SKUs. This might be the first time they've reached a mass appeal price point with or without the Chromecast bundled in.
If they were selling the controller for about $50 regularly and maybe $30-40 during a big sale, it would be more closely aligned with the rest of the market. I realize it's wifi, so slightly different than a Bluetooth controller, but Logitech can sell a wired controller for $20 and a full wifi router can be found for $25. One would think a unified combination of those would be doable for a similar price range.

It is definitely a piece of junk. I received it today morning and been trying to connect and consistently failing software update and can't move forward with pairing process. You are right that this is a failure. But isn't that the case for everything new that google does these days?
If it helps anyone I ordered my RDR2 with the 10$ off new sub and go the email for the stadia the day after. I had my friend order the jackbox 8 with 10$ off and its been 2 days and he hasn't received anything yet just the standard stadia advertisements.
Mine came in today, for technically free it's nice (bought game). At $80 though I'd say it's shit, but I'm cheap as hell so. Battery life is short, charge time is long. Haven't used it as wired yet cause c to c cable hasn't arrived yet and PC dead.
Setup was super easy, very 'follow these monkey directions'. Connection solid and gameplay smooth. If they ever allow bluetooth connection will be even better. $55 for an Xbox controller is insane, and that's sale price.
Chromecast gets hot, and wasn't even using it long. The power cable is nice and long though, and power adapter is narrow so fits in tiny space next to big blocky thing taking up my other outlet.
