Just wanted to drop a comment that if you activated the Oculus before getting the $30 referral credit, you can just factory reset if it doesn't let you link the referral.

I heard they patched this. Have you tried recently?
"CTO Andrew Bosworth stated that Meta is "working on new ways to log into Quest that won't require a Facebook account" and that it's "one of our highest priority areas of work internally." He didn't give a specific date but Bosworth did confirm that the new way to log in will go live sometime next year."
This sounds like they will just introduce a requirement of a "Meta" login… with all the same problems as logging in via Facebook.
I don't care about logging into Facebook at all. Plenty of other ways for the world to track my activity. If your offended by having to log into Facebook, that's perfectly fine, because you don't have to spend your money on this product at all and it will not effect you. Amazing.
Quest 2 is amazing for the price. The game selection is pretty great for what it is. Beat Saber is fantastic especially modded even after it's years of hype. Great to pick up and mess with when you don't have a lot of time. Controller batteries last forever on a single AA.
Elite strap is pretty terrible. Had one break literally just sitting on a desk. It's very comfortable though. Knockoffs on amazon do just fine and I have not had that break. The foam face pad isn't great. I recommend upgrading to a silicone face pad.
Worth having especially for people to mess around with that visit and have never used Vr at all.
Beat Saber runs extremely well on the Quest 2, it's one of my favorite games. The visuals aren't as robust as they are on the PC, but it's hardly noticeable and impressive for how well the game runs and how crisp it looks on a standalone.
You don't need the elite strap battery, but that does depend on how long your gaming sessions go. I would say that I've been at least able to go for a couple of hours without running out of juice, but honestly it may have been longer.
Also there is a $30 Quest referral program that they are running, so if you take advantage of that and get a referral link before activating the Quest 2 to your account then that $30 should cover the cost of Beat Saber.
Thank you, when you say not as robust as the PC, is there some way to be tethered to the pc on the OQ2?

Absolutely, you have the option to either use a compatible USB cable or the built in Airlink feature that allows the Quest 2 to be wirelessly tethered to a PC. This will make the Quest 2 work like a Rift, acting as a display and IO device, instead of a full blown stand-alone, and Oculus PC, Steam and VivePort will be fully accessible to your Quest 2 like they would be to a Rift, Vive, or Index (yes you can play Half-Life Alyx this way)
Airlink works great for me and is what I would recommend trying first, since it is the best hybrid solution, but if you find that it doesn't meet your needs then I would recommend getting a Stouchi Fiber-Optic USB C' cable. The official Oculus cable is fiber-optic, which is one of the reasons it is expensive, but also allows it to be light weight and have a long length. The Stouchi cable does the same, but at half the cost (if not even cheaper). I got a brand new one off of eBay for $20, so you could try your luck there if the need arises.
Honestly, try out Beat Saber on the Quest 2 and the PC and I think you'll see that the slightly more effects that are on the PC doesn't outweigh the convenience of having it stand-alone on the Quest 2. Also, the Quest version of BS was developed initially for the Quest 1 and they have been improving the visuals since the release of the Quest 2, so they may hit parity with the PC as development time allows.

Will there be game sale today or tomorrow?
There is a BF sales going on right now, but Oculus tends to have bundle sales every week and a daily deal sale every so often.
If you got that $30 referral credit, now might be the time to use it
