There's comments like this in every MacBook Air M1 thread, but have no clue what they're talking about. Look into how this thing actually performs instead of thinking it's the same as the Intel chipsets with 8gb of ram.

A year old laptop that is going to run circles around any other comparably priced laptop.

Costco has two years warranty, so that's a plus

Per google.....

The Nvidia equivalent would be the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, which is slightly faster at peak performance with 5.4 teraflops.

1660 ti can play all games

Should I expect mile-long lines for this?
You might want to beat the crowd so get there early. The PS5 people will be with you. Good luck.

I have the 2018 Pro. I assume this is a better model despite being an air due to the M1?

I have never bought a computer from Costco before. Is Costco easy to deal with if there's a problem with the computer under warranty? Does anyone have good experience? Thanks.
Quasi answer.

For the first 90 days with this sort of purchase under their electronics return policy, yes, Costco is one of the best for most folks regarding their return ease/process/stipulations.

Let alone their lifetime satisfaction guarantee for a majority of items they carry, that they actually honor as long as your membership history isn't exploiting them. Costco is top notch from my experiences the past 15 years and all those I've heard from others

I started saying quasi because you'll be dealing w apple directly or Citibanks visa insurance underwriting company if it comes to a warranty claim depending if you pick up apple care + or not and the period of duration of time that's past since the purchase date.

Yes. I owned 2018 pro and made the switch to M1 air. Completely different experience, love my air.

Eh it was just $999 a few weeks ago. Missed it by hours.
Where was it $999?

So it was $80 cheaper than the Education price?

Not trying to sound like a dick just pointing out that it's not really worth waiting for a better deal unless you are saving $200-300 on the Air with 16GB which is never going to happen.

On the base model, definitely can see a deal posted $200-300 under the education price - on an upgrade model, never unless you can snag a refurb from Apple

I have both MBP intel 2019 and MBA M1 2020 in front of me right now. I'm massively impressed with M1 performance. And haven't heard the fan running so far. I thought MBP 2019 was very quiet, fan on only a handful of times.

Missing the Best Buy return window (30-day for Elite, but currently doing holiday extension to 01/22/2022 for 10/18/2021+ purchase.. I should've waited), I just put my MBP on CL/eBay. Hard to believe (greedy) Apple came down with the price on this great update.

What about the one with 512G SSD? Will that be on sale also? 256G is too low nowadays as OS and built in apps itself takes away close to 100G.

The MBA M1 2020 doesn't have a fan.

Like another user's earlier reply, completely different experience. I am selling MBP 2019 and keeping M1 Air.
