These are a few dollars off but I'd recommend holding out for a deal on a Battle if you don't need a reel right now and are on a strict budget. Better build materials, better drag system.

These always looked cheesy when compared to some of the pfleuger (president) and okumas (avenger) of the same price range.

How is the build quality of these?

I've only owned two President XT models and a few Avengers . The Avengers just don't hold up for me. I've never used a Pursuit, the composite body concerns me for bigger fish. I probably have 30 combos but almost always pack a Battle, Squall, and President if going fresh. That being said, it all depends on target species and tactics.

33 for the 2500 is a great deal. The real is great deal at retail 39.99. You can use it for salt or fresh water, just rinse it good. To me these are the best reels in this price point by a mile. I have several 2500, 4000, and 5000 and they have yet to let me down.

Same drag system as the Battle. But definitely agree on the better build quality of the Battle, but you won't find a battle under $80 so not very budget friendly for most

In for a 2500 for $32. I already had a 4000 ($49.99) and for the price point these are hard to beat. Bi-Mart was having a 30% off all Okuma products today (Black Friday) and I found an Okuma Celilo 6' UL rod mismarked to $2.69 (should have been 26.99) and they honored the price. Needed a reel to go with the new rod, should be nice little spinner setup for trout.
