Better than the Target deal, I've been waiting for a good deal on bikes. Debating between this and Echelon Sports, any recommendations?

For anyone interested this is $699 with TotalTech membership. I understand the total cost will be $100 more than this post but TotalTech comes with a lot of other perks ….extra warranty, Geek Squad support and free delivery and installation on not just this product but any item you buy in the next 12 months. I think it is worth it if you buy lot of electronics at Best Buy. You also get 60 day return all thru your membership period. People should check it out. I have Totaltech and am planning on buying a OLED TV and the wall mounting will be free.

I read about it before I got mine, but it hasn't been prevalent for me in the year or so since I've had it.

For anyone planning on using this with an Android device and Peleton... don't bother. I tried at least four different Andoid devices and it wouldn't pair properly, but had no issues pairing with my wifes IOS devices. I'm really not looking for classes or leaderboard stuff anyways... just want to ride. I had a free year with Peleton from my insurance company which is why I gave it a shot.

The main issue I have is, the speed seems to be calibrated way off on mine and I have been too lazy to dig in to it and see if it's a common issue or if there is a way to recalibrate it. I've really only been using this as a "dumb" bike for no other reason than I was just too lazy to try the Peleton alternatives (but I do plan on trying FulGaz in the near future). I just get on and ride for "x" amount of time every night, but the speed being off is a bit annoying.

Thanks for the good review.

Would you recommend this over IC3 which doesn't have the ability to be connected with any app and has only basic meter display included with it.

How much do you rely / need a Bluetooth functionality?

Also, IC3 is mechanical vs this model, IC4, which has magnetic resistance.

IC4 is $800, IC3 is $550.

Thanks a lot.

Each person is different (budget, needs etc). The IC3 probably would have been fine for me all though the friction pads on the IC3 is not something I wanted. Honestly, I got the IC4 during the heart of Corona when it was hard to get any bike at all. I had a large target GC and just bought it as soon as I got the "in stock alert" email. There are some great YouTube videos of pros and cons on both bikes which should help guide you (they know much more than me). I really am a bit of a noob, but I suggest watching some of those YT videos before deciding on what you want to buy. If you're not sure exactly what you want, I wouldn't jump on this deal right now unless you need it ASAP... this does show up every couple months or so at $800, so while it is a good price, It's not something you won't be able to get again (I paid the full $1k, but that was when any bike was hard to come by at all).

I'm not sure if it will come back (doubtful), but there was a really nice deal on the Bowflex C7 a couple weeks back. So maybe keep an eye out for that one in case it does pop back up. The C7 is very similar to the IC4 but has the screen (made by same parent company).

Thanks. I think I may have to do a bit more research before pulling the trigger. Thanks a lot.

I compared Schwinn IC4 and Echelon EX3 at dicks sporting local store.
Personally I prefer Echelon EX3 b/c it looks better. I will wait for Echelon EX5 this BF

Based on your comment I read in a different thread I did go to Dick's yesterday to try these two models out. My local store had IC3 and EX3 for trying out. IC3 was displayed for $550 and EX3 for $500.

I am leaning more towards IC3 due to the inclusion of small basic LCD monitor, whereas EX3 doesn't have any monitor.

Would you have some insight to help me to make a decision?

Thanks a lot.

From functionalities, I think either works for me.

However Schewinn IC4 has a PDA size console to display time, calories, speed, distance, level, etc. That looks outdated to me. I would bring my iPad when exercising so I can monitor those information in the app.

I also do not like the square shape of the head tube in IC4.

But monitoring using (say) an iPad is ONLY possible is IC4, not in IC3 or EX3, correct? Is there a way to "hook" up an iPad with IC3 or EX3.

Just for Bluetooth connectivity to Apps, does one have to buy an almost $250 more bike!

Any insight / suggestions?

Thanks
