Pretty much the best desktop deals this Black Friday so far. While there are solid deals on i7's, I really hate i7-11700K CPU's in general and 5600x just provides way better performance for the heat and power consumption. It is especially important in pre-built's like this.

Corporateperk.com offers 10% points from Employee Purchase Program, however I can't get a working coupon code to stack with it. It is still cheaper overall. I am getting $1741 on 5600x and 3080, 10% points brings it to $1567 which is $50 cheaper than non-EPP.

I will pull the trigger if I can get one more coupon code to stack, also hoping for HP to offer a more loaded configuration on Black Friday for 5600x. A bit more memory and disk space, anything!

EDIT: This isn't a repost but this comment was originally posted on the repost. They've since fixed the FP title of my post to highlight the better deal and combined the comments of both posts. Thanks SD peeps!

This is actually a repost of a deal I posted yesterday, but you wouldn't know at a glance because they completely screwed up the title when they made it front page. (It's the one with pavilion 5700g for $1026.)

My original title included a few pavilion and omen configurations, as the whole intent of it was to list several good configurations of both Pavilion and Omen with updated pricing. They made it look like a Pavilion-specific post, and highlighted one of the less popular configurations to boot. (I'm not bitter lol)

Also, I wasn't aware at the time, but others are reporting edu does work with 10gamer2021 code making this 3080 build $1566.

Noob here...Does the Erica6 motherboard on the Pavilion have a video out so you can still use the 5300G integrated graphics after removing the graphics card?

Maybe I am missing something here but how is it a good deal? if you count all other components before GPU, you are really paying like $1000 for 3080. Heck they could've thrown 16Gb at least at this price.
Please post a link where you can buy an RTX 3080 for $1000 and it's in stock.

We'll wait.

It isn't a good deal in general if we consider MSRP it is a "good deal" in the current market for some people.

I really just come to these threads to watch people whine about miners because we were busy printing tens of thousands of dollars while other people were unable to play Fortnite. A nice piece of schadenfreude.

These Pavilion Desktop TG01 systems are optimal value for people who actually need the video card in a different system, since the 5300g and especially the 5600g are the best integrated GPUs out right now, barring consoles/mac anyway, so they are quite decent even after you pull the card out.

Consider upgrading from a 5300g to a 5600g, as CPU L3 cache is doubled from 8mb to 16mb. Upgrading to a 5700g is not a good deal for the same reason -- the 5700g still has a 16mb l3 cache.

TechNitWit on YouTube has some videos on how to install your own CPU cooler on the Pavilion TG01 models. Looks like you need to combine AMD and Intel mounting kits (WTF?!?) but it is possible.
just have chatted via hp sales and was told i can not remove gpu since its built in and he didnt answer if i can use it only with internal gpu. can i remove gpu for other system and use this with internal gpu?

Well I wasn't planning on a new computer, but that's what I get for looking. Threw a Hail Mary on the coupon screen and WINTER5 worked for 5% off.

Went 512 SSD not to have to mess with it later and 1660 Super. $645.99. 5% cash back on my card for using PayPal this quarter. Pretty happy with the package.

For the GPU craze right now, this is probably your best bet at getting a good pc set up. These are likely LHR gfx cards which is the reason why its not all bought up yet. good for gamers.

Back in June I purchased this:

https://slickdeals.net/f/15063076-hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-tg01-2285t-i7-11700-16gb-ddr4-256gb-pcie-ssd-2tb-hdd-rtx-3060-500w-psu-win10h-1125-f-s

On the back is an HDMI port that is has a cover over that reads, "Do not remove." Well, I removed them and fired them up, but it was quite the task.

Here's what I wrote on a different post:

"Anyway, I saw in that BIOS that you could enable onboard video, That allowed Windows to see it, but only as a "Microsoft Desktop Display Adapter." I tried looking for a driver for it to no initial success. I then looked at HPs site for a driver, NOPE! What I did find was something that restored Intel devices and display adapters on HP pcs. This initialed the onboard video, which Windows Update then saw as an Intel 750 and got the driver for it. Finally, a notification from the Intel driver that was installed pushed me to the Intel site for an updated driver. This completely unlocked it."

In doing some looking back, I believe it was the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver.

That was on this thread:

https://slickdeals.net/f/15074851-hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-tg01-2170m-ryzen-5-5600g-16gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-geforce-rtx-3060-1101-99#comments

The AMD based systems must have some way to use the onboard video. Regarding my experience, Intel's architecture disables the onboard video in the units I purchased, and in another unit I own, when the PCIe x16 slot is populated.

I don't believe so, but I don't have an EDU to try. Just login and see what it says in cart. For me, logging in with EPP account made the coupon say it doesn't apply to items in cart. Had to logout to see these prices.
