I love the concept, but the cable on this is so short,it's basically useless unless you have electrical outlets at countertop high.
I ended up finding a use for my Apple in my car, but for desktop charging I ended up buying knock-off magsafes from Amazon. They were cheaper, have proper length cables, and have weighted stands so you can remove the phone with one hand. They charge slower, but it will probably prolong battery life.
Other fun fact. I use these for Android phones by using a stick on metal ring.
Just grabbed a few Anker Powerport Nanos, and looking for a magsafe charger; people don't seem too happy with the Apple one Any other suggestions - don't see any reputable alternatives that do more than 7.5....
Update: their site is so jacked but I finally was able to jank an order through by having it fail as it had previously, then changing the shipping address to a family member.
Of course then the email confirmation didn't show up, my credit card was charged however. I chatted with support, they had no idea how to help me as apparently guest accessory orders are different. I had to get to someone specifically with order support on the phone and after a 40min total call I was able to get the confirmation resent and I see it processing:
TLDR: If you are able to get it to work right away go for it, but if ordering is giving you trouble don't waste your time for $2, just go order it from Target or something with RedCard. Of course the reason I did want to place it with VZ was the 10.5 % C B. Here it's 10% but I got 10.5 on T C B. Thankfully that did track for $3.13.
$26.86 shipped seems to be a decent deal for this right now. I don't see these going below $25 in the immediate future if I had to guess.
Apple (as much as I like them) with their typical initial stupidity limiting the 15W to only their first party chargers. Had a USBC 20W (aftermarket but white brick) sitting around so I figured, sure I'll grab this. Not much else to want to grab today, easily the cruddiest Black Friday on record.
I just bought an iPhone 13, but I'm not really understanding the point of this vs any other wireless charging or plugging your phone in. Can someone explain the use case for me?
The biggest pain point i find with wireless charging is the need to align the phone with the charger. Haters gonna hate but apple is always step ahead with user experience.
They can charge more than alternatives because their products are always a bit more polished, just like their airpods/beats headphones they integrate so well with their ecosystem. I doubt you can find a pair of wireless earbuds that automatically read out your text measages
