Why not just buy this and trade in to Best Buy for the 13 mini? Upgrading from 12 to 13 costs about $80 (assuming you're not in CA where the tax is much higher) so you're looking at paying under $400 for a new iPhone 13. You could even upgrade to a higher end 13 for a few more $. The BBY deal is probably one of the best ones this year if you have an iPhone 12:

I have Total Wireless, and plan to keep the device for 12 months anyway. Note that the referral program is generous, and you can essentially go the first 5 months for a total cost of $50 for the service using the referral codes ($25 each of the first 2 months, and the next 3 come free with the code ... this if you don't use much data, or 4 months if using more data) (you can add as you need) ... and it's Verizon towers ...

Mine was delivered today.. don't care about unlocking or trading in.. popped in my Tracfone sim and it works fine.. will trade in NEXT year for more then I paid for it…ditching iPhone SE2 I got last BF on total wireless website at apple store for $160 gc tomorrow… ez set up and copy over all data to new phone and much nicer then the se… couldn't stand no face id…no one knows what gonna happen with Verizon but I'm using the att towers on my sim which works better in my area…

Any reason to not trade into TMobile directly instead of Best Buy if I plan on using TMobile service? TMobile is offering $800 towards an iPhone 13 instead of $630 from Best Buy

just did this 6:30 CST, bought last 12 mini at Wally and traded to BB for 13 mini. The wiki on straight talk thread is more detailed and the card with the 12 is branded ST and Total Wireless. Wish both can be merged? Although I didn't set up 12 mini, just pressed i at lower right screen to show imei. Thanks to all for the good info from both threads!!!

If you are going that route, buy the phone on your current network T-Mobile will help you pay it off up to $1000 or you can go through the Costco route(just look up Costco T-Mobile on here) that way you will come out ahead
