They are great but I will say a stand is a must, at least for the 52 yr old! I bought the Nordictrack stand, it's half the price and works (use straps to secure the weight mounts).

Oh I'm not. I have 1 set I use and another new in box I got at a Walmart in Ohio for 299 which I thought was a steal. New in box no on wants to to give more than 200.
I considered buying these all for resale but 0-30 bucks wasn't at all worth the effort.
Pros- excellent at switching weights quickly.
Solid grip.
You can pick different weights for each end if you prefer for waiter's curl or something.
Cons- size is constant regardless of what weight you choose and it is pretty large.
Cannot drop or you'll mess them up.
But I switched to exp PowerBlock recently and I love the fact that you can expand them and I expanded each hand to 70lb already and they are excellent for presses if you already bench press in that range or more. Powerblocks are little harder/time-consuming than bowflex for sure. But makes up for much more compact size as it is smaller at smaller weights and gets larger as you increase weight. Some people complain about the shape and blah blah but that is non-issue for me. In fact the flat sides are awesome for putting them on your thighs to kick up for presses.

Reselling 110# is definitely not worth $30.
