That seems pretty low for a modern day laptop right? Other deals have battery life of 8-12 hours.

Complaints of slow performance - wondering if any experts can weigh in? Seems like a very good deal, yet these reviews (and the battery life) have me concerned.
Would love to hear thoughts of the slickdeals community before I consider pulling the trigger.
Thanks!

It depends on one's use case. Battery time may not be a top factor in deciding the laptop's worth, especially if you are not traveling with it.
