I just bought this grill (my first pellet smoker) on clearance at Wally World a few months ago and it did come with a shelf. Not sure if the BF ones don't for some reason but I'd imagine they do. I've done pork butt, baby backs, brisket, chicken thighs, cod, and as of today an 18lb turkey on this grill and it's been amazing! If you're just starting and on the fence buy it.

Edit:

I have considered that you may be referring to an external shelf that would be on the right side of the grill. It isn't included. There is an internal upper shelf inside the grill. 🦃

I haven't researched that much into pellet grills, but from preliminary reserach, it seems like traeger is the original (and likely most popular), followed by a lot of folks raving about pit boss

I have the zgrills 6002. Love it as well. Just finished smoking an 18lb turkey. It looks like this pit boss might have a bigger hopper which I could see as beneficial. I can get about 8 hours smoke time with the hopper on the zgrills before I need to add pellets.

I've had this for 3 years now, bought at this price. Good smoker, once you hone in a temp it stays pretty consistent. Just cooked Thanksgiving turkey in there today, amazing! To answer a few questions: It does have an option for a shelf ($50 I think). You can fit probably 5 or 6 racks of ribs in there.

Nice to see others are smoking and bbqing their turkey. Had a power outage a few years ago half hour into oven roasting the turkey. Ended up bbqing it. So good, will never go back to oven roasted turkey again. Plus clean up is so much easier.
