You split your password into 2 parts - one which is stored in the password manager, and the other which is stored in your head, If your password manager is hack/stolen or compromised due to a security breach they will not have a working password.

Nobody should ever pay a recurring subscription fee to something as basic and simple as a password manager. It should be free, period.

One of the best things about these email aliases is that if you start receiving emails from other senders other than the one place this alias is used at, that original source this email was used at is selling your information.
With fast mail, you also get up to I think 500 aliases also. Once you're done, delete it and you'll never see an email from them again.
Until Version 5, 1Password was a great product that stored all your secrets on your own system. In the past few years, though, it has transitioned into a remote "service" instead, and version 8 will be the final stage of that transition (with no option for local storage at all). If you don't mind storing all your passwords and software licenses off-site on their servers, it's probably still a great service, but it's just that -- a service.
I've been a user since 1Password 2, but I'm desperately looking to get out of its closed ecosystem before version 8 lands. I certainly don't need a third party and whatever hosting provider it's using at the moment in the mix.
