Synology drives question

I have 2 Western Digital NAS drives. 8GB and 12 GB,
Question:
Can I shuck the hard drives and install both of them in the Synology DS220+ listed on the SD front page. Would I have a single 20GB NAS storage device after installing both drives?
Or would I have 2 NAS drives #1 8GB and #2 12GB located on the same network IP address.
Or can I NOT put both drives in the Synology NAS Storage device and use them at all.
I don't want to RAID these drives. This data isn't important enough for that.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure the select the correct configuration on setup.
It should combine the storage, using RAID0
https://www.synology.co
^ You can use that to check your configurations and see if it works out

Got the DS220+ as well. Had two 14TB WD drives ready WD140EDFZ.
In the storage mgr of the DSM interface GUI for the Synology, the wizard for creating a POOL, I chose BASIC, and the next screen I get to pick which drive of my two, or both of them, to apply this selection.
afterwards, you can create volume(s) within the POOL.
anyway I believe this option would result in the POOL being one of the physical disk drives in the NAS, as a fully independent drive, not much different than a USB external drive, except in the case of the Synology, it's on the LAN with an IP of course.
