I just picked one up today at Costco and can confirm that the Roku YouTube app does support speed change range of 0.25x to 2x.
Tested the 2x speed and the audio is played quite fast to a point of being unintelligible!
But if your brain works 2x faster than mine, then you should be able to understand it!

Be forewarned that this model seems to have bad vignetting / uneven brightness at the corners and edges. It's very noticeable with solid colors (do an all white screen test via YouTube and you'll see what I mean!) ... but not so for movies and dark backgrounds. Thought it was a defective tv, but a replacement had the same issue but was slightly less uneven.

I'm keeping the replacement since it has all the other bells and whistles for the given reasonable covid, post China tariff price of $349 at the warehouse:

* eARC
* Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos
* Auto Low Latency Gaming Mode + VRR
* Native Roku which I wholeheartedly recommend
* Alexa basic voice control via Roku Skill (manual did not disclose how to enable voice activation)
* Very loud sound which is decent enough for everyday use
* Reasonably bright screen using the "Brighter"/"Normal" video screen options

Why is this thread labeled "expired" and moved to Deal Talk? Costco stock is somewhat regional, so it'll be OOS for some zip codes and in stock for others

Does anyone know how the model lines of the Hisense compare?

R7G5 vs U6GR5?

Thank you very much for the kind reply. It really helped.

Got one from the warehouse for $10 less ($349.99) and canceled my online order.
Thanks for that! Costco B&M was actually NOT busy on BF. Saved $10 and cancelled online order as well.

Any comparisons to the U6GR, which is $100 more?

The main diff, to me, are local area dimming and variable refresh rate. Both of which, just by looking at it at the store display for 5 minutes, I could not tell the difference at all. Obviously the 2 feature might be really important to some folks who use this as a main tv, or even a bedroom tv, but we're just using this for the kid's toy room, and it's just replacing an older 43" that didn't have either of those features, so i stuck with the R7G5 cause both has base 3 year warranty, and our sharp died just out of warranty.

Just so people are aware, the 50" model is also on sale for $329, just in case you need to fit the tv in a tighter space.

I just created a Wiki with the warehouse price ($10 cheaper) in case one doesn't want to deal with delivery, appointments, etc. If you have a sedan, it fits just fine when you lower the backseats.

I've transported a number of TVs in the back of my car without any issues. Heck, I received TVs from Target, Walmart, etc that were shipped via FedEx. They're packed really well and tolerate a lot of abuse. If FedEx can't break it, you won't be able to in the back of your car Smilie

There is also a slightly better version for about $100 more: https://www.costco.com/hisense-55...1412.html. Pros: Clear Motion Index 240 (vs 120), 4 HDMI ports (vs 3), 20W speaker (vs 8W).

Does anyone know if a bluetooth keyboard would work with this TV? I have a logitech k480 and thought it might be helpful when searching for a movie, etc. Thanks

The panel itself is only supported by the edges of the bezel. Therefore the center of the screen is unsupported and is more susceptible to damage especially with larger screen sizes. If you lay a >50" down in the back of a truck, say under a bed cover, you risk the screen flexing in the center and potentially being damaged under poor road conditions. While this may be true in theory, i have moved and read of others moving large panel units on their side with no issues.
