I just picked one up today at Costco and can confirm that the Roku YouTube app does support speed change range of 0.25x to 2x.
Tested the 2x speed and the audio is played quite fast to a point of being unintelligible!
But if your brain works 2x faster than mine, then you should be able to understand it!

Be forewarned that this model seems to have bad vignetting / uneven brightness at the corners and edges. It's very noticeable with solid colors (do an all white screen test via YouTube and you'll see what I mean!) ... but not so for movies and dark backgrounds. Thought it was a defective tv, but a replacement had the same issue but was slightly less uneven.

I'm keeping the replacement since it has all the other bells and whistles for the given reasonable covid, post China tariff price of $349 at the warehouse:

* eARC
* Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos
* Auto Low Latency Gaming Mode + VRR
* Native Roku which I wholeheartedly recommend
* Alexa basic voice control via Roku Skill (manual did not disclose how to enable voice activation)
* Very loud sound which is decent enough for everyday use
* Reasonably bright screen using the "Brighter"/"Normal" video screen options

Why is this thread labeled "expired" and moved to Deal Talk? Costco stock is somewhat regional, so it'll be OOS for some zip codes and in stock for others

Does anyone know how the model lines of the Hisense compare?

R7G5 vs U6GR5?

How does this compare with the 58" Hisense (2020 model) from Walmart?

Yes Roku still supporting YouTube app. I read they plan to drop it sometime in December this year so time is running out!
Work around later you can cast YouTube from your phone or tablet via Apple Airplay or Roku mirroring or buy a Chromecast. Yeah, it adds to the cost and is less convenient.

Guys. Don't get this. I bought it a long time ago and hate myself for buying a Hisense. #1 - The "smart" TV is useless. They have a weird "App Store" with a ton of junk. You can't add basic channels. #2- Screen quality is TERRIBLE. I had to turn off all/any features with backlighting. Etc. It doesn't sync with any soundbar, it keeps getting confused. IT FREEZES WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE EXTENSIONS CONSTANTLY. Skip. Trust.

I'll bite. Rtings rated the U6 series as the best budget TV. This model slots higher on the model chart
Actually the next set up from the U6G is the U7G. This is more of a bottom rung set like the A6G with no backlight or advanced features. Which may be fine for some. Just don't expect it to perform like a FALD VA panel.

Thanks for that correction. I'll edit my prior comment.

Can YouTube TV app be added to this?
I picked up one yesterday. It automatically installed YouTube when I logged in with my Roku ID. I'm not sure if that was because I already had YouTube on an older Roku TV though.

Update... found this on the web ...

December 9
Since we haven't been able to continue our conversations in good faith, our partnership for all new Roku devices will unfortunately end on December 9. We are, however, giving Roku the ability to continue distributing both YouTube and YouTube TV apps to all existing users to make sure they are not impacted."

I also read that if you are an existing YouTube App user on Roku and if you uninstall YouTube, you will "not" be able to reinstall it. So don't touch that "Remove" option!!!! EEK!

Sorry, specifically meant YouTube TV. I heard there was currently a workaround thru the YouTube app, but on my devices from a year ago, I have the dedicated YouTube TV app.

This is nice to hear. I haven't needed to purchase a new Roku since this mess started, but hopefully I'll maintain the option if I do end up needing to.

you can purchase a google chromecast TV dongle right now for $39.99 making this TV an even better purchase.
Better yet get the Chromecast with the Netflix bundle for $90 and get $84 in Netflix credit leaving you with one slick $6 dongle!
