The entry level De'Longhi espresso machines (Stilosa, ECP3120, EC155) are by far the best machines around $100. They can make real espresso with a non-pressurized basket [appliancefactoryparts.com]. They won't heat up instantly or automatically dispense a specific volume, but having conventional, reliable internal components is far better IMO.
Edit: This doesn't seem like an incredible deal, though. The Stilosa is the same aside from minor aesthetic differences and is regularly $100, was $87 recently.
