Amazon finaly has the battery version of Eufy 2k doorbell on sale for $139.99. Theres also a $10 cupon available on the page, making it $129.99
Normaly ratails for $199.99 This battery version can be hardwired aswell, so you never have to charge the battery or if you wish to use existing doorbell chime
Next best price is $140 from ebay.
White version from costco is cheaper ($120) has slightly smaller battery life and does not have wire terminals if you plan to hardwire it.

Other than the color and battery life, I couldn't find any difference. Didn't open the Costco package as I am going to return anyway . I decided to keep the black version (Amazon) on account of better battery life

Installed mine [bestbuy.com] today. Had to buy a transformer [amazon.com] ($20) because my existing one was weak. Here are some thoughts:
  • Transformer replacement was simple (it is held by the standard round threaded mount, so I just unscrewed the old one, reattached the wires and screwed in the new one; the only issue was that because the new one is a bit bigger, the existing wires were hardly long enough to make it).
  • Installation was relatively easy (I'm not a handyman, but do simple fixes at home).
  • My original doorbell button left a big round hole, so I had to patch it with stucco.
  • The EUFY doorbell is now held with two screws held in the stucco via two flimsy anchors. A two-year-old can rip it out in a second.
  • The original chime does not work (as expected, but I was still hoping it would).
  • I had to short the original chime (before I did, the app told me that my transformer was too weak to work even though it was just as required).
  • My doorbell is on the left wall (at 90 degrees to the door), so I used the wedge and it worked fine.
  • The doorbell is installed at 47" above the ground, so when someone of my height (6 feet) stands directly next to the door, the head does not fit in the capture). It's not a big deal, since by the time they get to this position, the head would be in focus for a few seconds.
  • I turned distortion correction off, even though it was one of the reason for getting this model in the first place. Reason: without distortion correction, it gets slightly wider coverage.
  • Similarly, I am not using 24x7 recording. It's nice to have this option, but for now, I do not really need it.
  • For some reason I though that local storage meant external micro-SD card, but is seems like it's built-in. So it cannot be expanded beyond 32 GB.
  • My walkway distance from the corner of the house to the door is just a few feet, so the 3-second buffer really helps.
  • Picture is okay, but not as good as I had expected even at the highest resolution.
  • I cannot figure out why I do not get a sound alert on my Android when someone walks to the door.
  • The app is nice and I like that it's integrated with my two indoor cameras.

UPDATE: Figured out how to get notification sound on motion detection: had to change the sound in the app from Default to something specific.
