To those with questions: Don't get your tech info from Slickdeals. Seeing way too much bad or half-right piecemeal info that'll just confuse you, especially regarding Android. Google your questions if you have any and go from there. Top results from Reddit are usually the most straightforward and helpful.

I agree. I'd rather buy an older flagship platform based on 855 or higher whose benchmark is much better. There are plenty of unlocked LG G8s on eBay for less money that perform much better for example.

Moto/Lenovo definitely needs to address their reception issues. It's been a problem for those of us that spend time in fringe areas since the first Moto E was released. Motorola used to be the King of reception before they sold out to Lenovo.

I've been wanting to upgrade my G5 plus for 2 years.
Finally bought the G power over the summer & sent it back. It lagged SO bad, and sound quality was bad.
It was definitely a downgrade from the G5 plus.

Still looking to upgrade, just not sold on anything I've seen yet in the sub $400 range.
The TCL 10L is a pretty good deal. It hits most of the marks I'm looking for (SD slot, headphone jack) But I might hold off for a faster processor.

Hope I didn't make a mistake but I just ordered same price, both colors in stock. Still through the TCL Store but seller is showing TCL Smart Life instead of TCL Direct US. Can anyone chime in what's going on?

Looking at specs on BB website of the moto it has lower resolution, less ram and has a slightly weaker processor. Not sure how accurate the best buy website is though. But battery life should be better if that's important.
