Everything on upgradeability. At least for 17 inch models, which are a real sweet spot for LG Gram:
2020 LG Grams based on i7-1065G7 had 2x8gb or 2x16gb Samsung DDR4-3200 memory.
I took one out and replaced with 32gb, getting 40gb overall. Works fast with no issues.
They also had 2 SSD slots, and they took Samsung 2TB 980 pro and 2tb 870 evo no issues.
Still unbelievably light and fits all hotel deposit safe boxes (sometimes you need to enter diagonally though but it fits)
Productivity monster if you need to see a lot of visuals on the screen.
Sound is bad, but I am either on headphones, or use a small portable sound bar.
No other issues whatsoever. Never crashed on me in a year, and I am guilty of keeping 300+ browser windows open.
Even on 2020 the battery easily runs me through a 10 hour work day on the go non stop with heavy use.
2021 LG Grams i7-1165G7 and like all use low voltage soldered LPDDRX-4267 which is slower in comparison and not upgradeable. They also lost on screen brightness a bit.
In exchange, they got a little faster CPU and graphics, PCI4 vs PCI3 and one extra thunderbolt, losing one USB-A
Overall, 10th gen may provide a better value for someone who wants to maximize memory and likes brighter screen. Both are critical to me, so I am not upgrading until at least Adler Lake.
How are the speakers?
I got the LG 17 (Model 17Z95P-K.AAE8U1) on sale at Costco a couple of months ago and the speakers were so bad I had to take it back. That one was listed as having 2X 1.5 Watt speakers. This one is listed as having 2x 2.0W Stereo Speakers (with Smart Amp). I just want it loud enough to hear Netflix in a noisy room and to hear quieter you tube videos or Zoom users. My Moto G7 phone was louder?

Not sure about the nits, but i used it for a couple of weeks and found its display too reflective compared to its brightness
Thanks. I'd love to find a laptop that is readily viewable in the sun.
350 nits
Any idea where to find this information out? I couldn't.

2021 generation is slightly over 300 nits.
That is based on some reviews I've seen and personal observations. I own 2020 and I saw 2021 and 2020 next to each other.

Ah maybe, the 17" in bestbuy QHD model was at least 350, 16" touchscreen may not be ig

Might only be Windows 11?
