I have one of these and it's an amazing Chromebook. So much so I want another one. But $600 is the current going rate for these. Now if some found it for ~ 400 I wouldn't be able say no.

Samsung ocassionally has these on sale with EPP/EDU for $350-$450 plus cash back.

I bought one but will probably sell it after using it only a handful of times. Chrome OS just didn't do it for me so I got one of the Galaxy Books instead.

Was actually hoping the build quality on the Galaxy Book was going to be like this Chromebook only with Windows but I was a bit disappointed that it's not.

If you happen to be in the NYC area and are interested in one of these that's barely been used, let me know.

Sorry, not in NYC. If you know someone with a ChromeOS SuzyQable you can unlock the bootloader and then load whatever OS you want. I've had success with Fedora, but there is a group of masochists on reddit that specialize in loading Windows on Chromebooks.

Thanks for the tip, never really looked into Windows onto it but then I'd be stuck with 8gb of ram only and the 16gb I have on the Galaxy Book is nice.

I played around with Linux apps on the Chromebook a tiny bit but for some reason the notifications weren't working properly for the apps that I need and I couldn't find a solution for that anywhere.

Mine also had the issue where it shutdown during sleep so I updated the firmware on the SSD, which fixed it. Shame because the build quality on these is really nice and I love that it has a built in silo for the S-Pen, which Samsung did not include with the GB Pro 360.

If your using Crostini to run Linux apps, they're really being run inside an LXC container, which is why the desktop integration doesn't work. It's a bit like tunneling X11 apps over SSH. HW acceleration is also hit and miss. Google has tweaked a few of the Debian packages, so that works, but most aren't. Firefox and VLC come to mind. I found a workaround for Firefox, but stopped there. When people complain about overheating,, its usually because they aren't using GPU acceleration, so the CPU has to do more work, and overheats/drains the battery. Eventually I decided to ditch ChromeOS and just load Linux on it. I now have two ex-Chromebooks. I picked up the Acer 713 when Best Buy offerred it up, with a 3K screen for 270 a couple weeks back.

Part of the reason I want a second one of these is so I can leave it running ChromeOS. But only if a I can get it at bargain basement prices.

I stumbled across this. It might just be what you need. Are you a MacOS fan?
