It's not incredibly accurate with the colors displayed on screen but it's close enough to give good ambient lighting and add a bit to the immersion level compared to a single color rgb strip.
I was lucky enough to snag it when it was $35 a year ago but since then I bought another set for a second display at around $65.
I bought two more now at this price to give as gifts.

This is just one of my TV setups. Hue Play Bars shown on am LG OLED. I have since changed them to Hue Gradient Strip to improve smoothness.

The cheaper ones will have a HDMI Passthrough that will average out the display colors and sync the LEDs that way. some of the more fancier ones will also use audio to enhance that experience.

Been interested for a while and I just bought the floor lamps as my first govee product, been waiting for a sale... i have a houseful of hue and lifx bulbs and strips.
I put one govee lamp together already and farking wow you are so wrong, these are bitching and this is a nice product so far. They also had a pricemistake on the the livestream (glide bar things) and shipped my order of that thing.
If amazon was smart govee would be a company to buy imo. Have a couple more lamps to set up, but the wife made me order one more already.
Personally the full retail price is high on the floor lamps, but the sale prices are about right.
Also the app needs some work, feels like The first iterations of the hue app.
