I do not recommend this. The last one I got, broke after 3 months.

There are just too many complicated moving parts in this machine, especially the ultrasonic membrane that is responsible for creating the mist. That membrane is extremely sensitive, difficult to clean, and mine just broken with no reason after a short while. A waste of money and plastic.

I moved to an "evaporative" humidifier, which works just as well but is much less complicated - the most complex component is a fan.
Not the same model as Costco that is on sale currently(higher price). Costco's version has single bigger tank and UV-C light.
I did a lot of research on humidifiers. Go with evaporative humidifier or air washers instead. Ultrasonic humidifiers need distilled water to prevent white dust and pain to clean.

I have this model from Costco from a few years back. As other have noted cleaning the mist tube is near impossible. I spray bleach in it as best I can to try to clear any microbes.

I recently upgraded and bought the Winix unit from Costco. Much better and more thoughtful design that allows for full cleaning without any headaches.

Unlike what some others have said here, you should be regularly cleaning your humidifier regardless of which type you have. Any high moisture environment is a breeding ground for mold.

It is a pain to clean this model and the electronics acts wonky after a few months usage. I bought this model in costco a couple of years before and didn't last couple of months.

I got it two years back and returned in few weeks due to some issues with it. Don't remember the exact reason.

I had two of the Costco models and both failed after the first cleaning even though I was super cautious with the second unit. I too went with the winix from Costco and I am loving it. I use these in my grow tent.

I was using RO water to avoid mineral deposits and having to clean the humidifiers. Then I realized the 6 stage RO I have adds some minerals back in after filtering everything out. So I added a bypass and now have 5 TDS water that I use for the humidifiers. I don't need to clean them anymore. They'll probably die before needing a cleaning.

DO NOT BUY THIS. I've had mine replaced 3 times in only 6 months. All the same issues, display died, leaks, works on & off. Plus they're awkward to fill up. My Taotronics has been going strong for 2+ years and it's easier to clean. https://www.taotronics.com/produc...umidifiers

what the heck is ultrasonic and how the heck does that have anything to do with humidification

I believe it uses high frequency vibration to make mist without warming it up

Hi, what type of TDS meter do you use to measure the water TDS? My 5 stage RO is showing like 250 TDS, close to the tap water 270TDS. I am wondering if its the meter problem or my RO problem? laugh out loud
