Great deal, be aware these are pretty powerful and not for kids. I wouldn't use these blasters any closer than 5ft because they do hurt and are basically at near-modded voltages. They're the fastest firing and hardest firing stock rival blasters and the favorite in the nerf club I tried starting at my university.

This is one of the best blasters that Nerf has ever created, and a helluva deal. Comes with the perfect battery already, very fast, small enough for midsize kids. Balls come out a little hard, but that will teach to use cover. Not too bad. Get some of the cheap Walmart Adventure Force orange balls to go with it.

It hurts at close range. For sure there will be bruises if shot at 2 ft or nearer. Wear another layer of clothes. Definitely use the nerf masks or equivalent to protect eyes.

From my experience with Nerf guns with motors, I made sure to pick up the 3 year protection plan. These things always seem to die so quickly.

Anyone have a suggestion for a "non-lethal" nerf gun? Something that kids more in the 6-8 range can play with without coming away crying?

This 100%!!! Eye protection people!!! We have full out wars at the house with the Rival series and I make everyone wear eye protection. As previously mentioned they sting a little a close range but never had a child (8-12 yo) fuss about it. Rival is the only Nerf series anyone should buy IMO.

Bought these last year for my 8 year old daughter and 15 year old step son to wage war with each other. Never thought it'd be the boy that cried like a girl whenever these come out. They're potent!!

Great blaster with its own rechargeable battery. I host Nerf battlezones and own all the rival blasters so I should warn you: this blaster is on par with the Prometheus in terms of foam flinging power. Someone with this will be on a different competitive level than someone with most of the other rival blasters. We had to classify someone with this as 2 players for team balancing.
