Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.
Which is the best of the free phones?
Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

Might not work on simple choice, I've seen a few post here saying they can't get it or that it is prompting them to switch plans. Be careful, not worth upgrading a grandfather plan.

I'm on Simple Choice, 4GB plan originally now unlimited and it's working fine for me.

OK I dunno if I'm screwed. I had an existing eip on one of the line that I added new eip with the LG velvet. I just realized and quickly paid off the old eip on that line. The new eip didn't even show up yet on the 2 lines I added.

Am I screwed?

In the same boat except I didn't pay it off (yet.) There's mixed reports, including some on this thread. Official language says one per line, but others report multiple EIP discounts stacking on one line without a payoff i.e transfer to acct. credit. Some on reddit say this changed in the past year or so.

This is a TERRIBLE idea for anyone who isn't grandfathered into some excellent priced plan. The LG is also the only choice you should consider if you are planning to do this.

If you really want a 'free' phone you may as well switch to Metro by T-Mobile and get one there. Of course you'll need non-tmobile # to get port price. At the very least you can leave whenever you want without needing to pay ETF, because that's exactly what this entails an ETF if you leave TMobile.

Is there any screen that actually confirms that you will get the credits? I just see it say new monthly cost of $16.67 for the account and $400 as financed amount for the LG Velvet when I went to upgrade my line choosing this phone. Would think monthly amount is $0 after paying the upfront ~$40.

Yours showed $0 on your monthly x 24 months? Mine showed $16..67 x 24 months at the checkout screen. I tried mobile browser, the app, ipad and my laptop.

The phone has to be tied to a line. Pick a line with no bill credits applied to be safe and check out as normal. Pick upgrade a current line.

Seems like I will lose the opportunity for iphone or galaxy promo until 24 months later. I'd not do it unless I really need a phone.
you can always pay it off and continue to get the bill credits.
