Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.
Which is the best of the free phones?
Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

I called and was like on the call for 45 min or so. The agent said he's not able to find the LG velvet promo and he says the only one he is able to see is one that expired in 2020. In the end he said since I am on a very old select choice plan, these type of promotions usually require to convert to more recent plans as select choice is not available anymore in their system and any changes done cannot guarantee that the plan will remain the same. So it is a chance it looks like for those on select choice plans. I am probably not willing to take that chance. Thanks all for your responses.
I wouldn't call, they tack on an additional service charge if you order it not on your own. Not worth it at that point since it's as high has the taxes you'd be paying for the phone in the first place

Lg Velvet is a not a bad deal. It's amazing phone. I am hoping LG is going to update the phone as they promised.
It's not a bad phone but bummed that they did it with a company that is no longer manufacturing phones. Hoping that they will update it is taking a gamble considering Android vendors track record when it comes to updates

This is such a bad deal, a part of me wants to get it just because it's free, but another part of me is just wanting to pass because it's just a bad deal
Don't do it lol
I remember the other deal with the a32?
several people bought it and then another deal popped up shortly afterwards and people wanted to cancel it.

If you are fine with paying off the remaining balance left on these devices in order to get the next deal and keep the bill credits, fine, I guess.

Is there confirmation at all that you can add this new phone promo to a line and keep the previous device discount and EIP on that line as well (without paying off previous EIP prematurely)?

Am I missing something? Shouldn't I see something on the checkout page telling me I'll be getting Bill credits? If looks like I'll be getting charged $16 a month, but doesn't say anything about credits.
Yep not too clear. Got free LG Velvet. I kept the screenshot showing

"Your $499.00 promotional credit will be applied as follows:

Recurring bill credit $400
$16.67 off your bill for 24 months"

Might not work on simple choice, I've seen a few post here saying they can't get it or that it is prompting them to switch plans. Be careful, not worth upgrading a grandfather plan.
I am bit worried about this too since I am on select choice unlimited TT

I'm on simple choice and finally got it to work.
I ordered through the mobile app.

The key is even after following the provided steps, after you click "All Devices" you need to make sure the drop down at the top says upgrade device. The default for mine switched back to "add a line". After switching that, the rest of the process worked fine.

The app sucks though, anytime I navigated away from the checkout process, I would have to start from the top again.
Yep same here and got it to work on simple choice plan. Somehow stumbled into it as both on app and online could not "upgrade" with the upgrade button shaded out.

Where did it say that? No where during checkout (before actually paying) or even the product page for the Velvet mentions bill credits.

clearing out old stock to retain customers for 2 years with free phones. I'm in for 3 - if you have no interest in changing providers it's not bad.

Not true, my rep didn't know about it either. It's a 24 hour promo. $35 shipped and you don't have to add a line. I would call back, mine has been escalated, one for me and one for my wife. We'll see 😃
you are on select choice too?
