Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.

Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

LG VELVET 5G looks like a great budget phone from all the reviews. If promo goes smoothly I'll chalk it up as my best cybermonday deal of 2021.

Not yet. Still on the phone. Rep is not the brightest. I'll provide updates as I have them.

You need to change the drop down to "upgrade". Even though I selected upgrade initially, it revert back to add a line in the next step. After changing it again, it worked as expected

I spoke to a rep and she kept insisting that I needed a line. I kept telling her it doesn't. Simple choice plan, can't do it online.

Drop down? I don't see a drop down.

I am wondering why everyone is crazy about the LG phone when they are walking out of that market. Isnt going updates and support a concern?
It's in July security patch and got updated to Android 11. It's a great value and the phone itself is beautiful! I wouldn't consider it, but it's free. Honestly, it's one of the best budget phones out there. The only thing is budget about this phone is it's CPU from Mediatek. Not that it's bad, it's just not your regular 865 or 888 Dragon. LG has committed to update this particular phone until Android 13. At least that's what they promised. We will see

Velvet will receive 3 years of updates from LG. It was released 4/2020 so it will stay updated until 2023. LG also mentioned that there's potential Android 12 upgrade as well.

Also, not sure if this has been noted yet, but the T-Mobile variant of Velvet uses MediaTek Dimensity 1000C rather than Snapdragon 765 (AT&T) and 765G (Verizon, mMwave compatible). Performance-wise the Dimensity 1000C is closer to the 800 rather than the 1000, Mediatek's flagship SoC. Between the two, 1000C slightly outperforms the 765G.

Are there any downsides to upgrading all our lines, aside from have to forkup the owing amount if we want to cancel lines?
