Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.

Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

When I went to the website to order this phone there were only 2 options.
1. Enter your number below to see if it can be transferred to T-Mobile.
2. I want a new number

Neither of these options apply to me. I already have a T-Mobile number and I'm not adding a line. I had to call 1-800-937-8997 to talk to an expert to get my order placed properly. I just got confirmation that my order for a LG Velvet 5G went through. Total cost = $37.51 for tax and shipping.
Can anyone please give directions on how to order this (if it comes back?) I was stumbled upon this step as well. I just want to order and leave it as spare so I don't want any phone number associate to it. Thanks.

From the Wiki:

Tips for getting the free device

Best way to buy the Velvet (or other free device):

1. Open T-Mobile app on your phone and go to "Account" tab
2. Tap the big square with your line in it. It's ok if that's not the line you're going to put the velvet on.
3. Tap "Upgrade device"
4. Tap "all devices"
5. If a popup shows asking what you'd like to do today, close it with the X at the top right
6. At the top, be sure the dropdown says "You are upgrading a current device"
7. Scroll to the very bottom and find the velvet and tap it
8. Hit upgrade my line. From there you can pick which line to actually buy the device on.

It wants to charge me every time I try to upgrade. New line it shows free. I've been trying for hours and it will not work. Now it won't even let me log in
You can just call 611 and tell them you're having tech issues and they can place the order and waive the assist fee.

I saw that but I prefer to do it on computer. It's my sister account and I am an authorized user, would I mess her up by installing this app? Thanks.

One benefit of the Velvet is its 5G and is newer compared to the G7. Velvet has a bigger battery and bigger screen and more memory.

You have to order it with your number cause it's an upgrade. You don't need to put the sim in your new phone after delivery.

It seems out of stock now. I was able to place an order for a black one before it went out of stock. I did the upgrade on a line that was already getting bill credits though from the A32 5G free phone promotion. I hope I didn't mess up…
only way to verify when you will get txt that this line is now eligible for new LG $400 promo and EIP credit. and if it shows both A32 $9 credit and LG $16.67 credit on the same line under My Promotion - you are golden.

Last time I talked to T-Moble Rep at the store during mothers day iphone 12 promo, he told me website/app will let you order as many device on the single line but on the backend it will only allow one EIP credit. I had multiple old iphones and wanted to do $830 iphone 12 deal. He said it wont work and you will end up paying the extra devices per month. so I backed out.

only way to verify to actually do it and wait for it to show up under My Promotion page.
Post the screen show in a day or two when it get process.

I had an LG Velvet that I traded in for an S21 earlier this year. The phone itself is light, fast, bright and a beautiful screen. The only downside was that the photos in the dark didn't come out all that well.

For free, this is a no-brainer.
