Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.

Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

I had initially entered it in my cart and was doing the checkout process, and then I went back a couple of web pages to verify that the language made it very clear that it would not affect the current plan I was on (One+ Unlimited 55 plan) , and then when I went forward to the product page, it said out of stock.

But I just kept pressing forward in my browser, and it returned me back to the checkout page, and I was able to complete the checkout.

So, just to be clear, as far as we can tell, this is for ANY T-mobile plan? Included my grandfathered One+ 55 Unlimited plan?

I went back to my account page and it still showed my old plan, and the order review page never made mention about adding a new phone plan, so I think I should be in the clear.

It seems out of stock now. I was able to place an order for a black one before it went out of stock. I did the upgrade on a line that was already getting bill credits though from the A32 5G free phone promotion. I hope I didn't mess up…

Answered my own question. Once logged in to my account with my Veterans discount if you select the "free phone" it shows a monthly payment with no discount. Very disappointed I can't take advantage of this deal due to having a Veterans discount. 😔
Got to click through to the end. I saw the same thing, but ended up getting it to work on my line of our 4 lines for $103/month.

I did it online. Log into your account, then in a new window open T-mobile.com... click on the little advertisement on the front page showing the deal. Go through and get the Velvet (or Samsung phone of choice) and make sure you have selected it as upgrading an eligible line. It will look like you are going to pay $16.67 per month or something like that and then when it gets to the final screen before starting the checkout it will show a $400 credit (spread over 24 months).

Well, velvet is out of stock. The rest (personally) don't feel worth it to me with being charged for taxes and I assume that stupid upgrade fee of thirty some dollar.

When I went to the website to order this phone there were only 2 options.
1. Enter your number below to see if it can be transferred to T-Mobile.
2. I want a new number

Neither of these options apply to me. I already have a T-Mobile number and I'm not adding a line. I had to call 1-800-937-8997 to talk to an expert to get my order placed properly. I just got confirmation that my order for a velvet 5G went through.

if you do the upgrade yourself via the app or website, you don't get charged the 'assisted fee'.

Worked for my simple choice plan. Didn't do anything special. Saw 400 off promo applied during checkout. I think the website is just glitchy. I used mobile website through chrome. Keep trying.
Same plan and it works with simple choice plan.
