Best way to buy the Velvet (or other free device):
1. Open T-Mobile app on your phone and go to "Account" tab
2. Tap the big square with your line in it. It's ok if that's not the line you're going to put the velvet on.
3. Tap "Upgrade device"
4. Tap "all devices"
5. If a popup shows asking what you'd like to do today, close it with the X at the top right
6. At the top, be sure the dropdown says "You are upgrading a current device"
7. Scroll to the very bottom and find the velvet and tap it
8. Hit upgrade my line. From there you can pick which line to actually buy the device on.

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Did you see this in your account after your order shipped? Did you pay off the the previous EIP already? Or do you see both EIP in you account?
Sorry for all the questions, I did this deal last night when there were no warning about one line can NOT have 2 active EIP credits, and now I am worrying and don't know what to do. My order hasn't shipped yet, and I only see my current EIP (samsung A32 deal).
Did your LG velvet shipped already? Mine is still order processing, wonder if that's why I don't see it under my lines yet.

I don't recall my confirmation page (~11am Central Time today) showing anything about the $400 and my EIP agreement definitely doesn't mention it. First notification I got was emails saying visit t-mobile(dot)com to see documents and another confirming the order, with price paid ($47.69). Again no mention of bill credits. The next notification was a text saying that I had entered into an installment billing agreement. Next was a shipping email at ~11pm. While I was waiting on a chat with CSR, I refreshed the "My promotions" page (~11:45pm) and the "2021 Smartphone P1" device promo ($16.67 monthly credit) showed up.
All is well, but T-Mobile sure does things in backwards order and makes you worry for about 12 hours.
